Yikes! IE remembers my Hotmail password and I don't want it to!

After opening IE, I click on Hotmail in my Favorites and it takes me to a Windows Live log-in page.

My email address is listed there and when I click on it, it takes me to my in-box. I don't like that and can't find a way to fix it. I tried clicking on the Don't remember me and then rebooting but see it still does not require me to use a password when logging in.

When I open Firefox and click on my Hotmail bookmark, it takes me to the log-in page and I have to fill in my password. That is the way I would like for it to be and would like the log-in page with IE to be set the same way.

Few folks ever use my computer, but those that do of course still always use IE if they happen to want to check their emails while they are here.

How can I fix my Hotmail log-in with IE?

Look at link below if ie8
internet options, delete browsing history, one of the options is passwords, plus you have the current cookie.

Thanks Mikie, but I have IE 7 and don't have anything that looks like that pic or anything similar that I can see via IE>tools>internet options> and checked all of the tabs...thus no way to change things that way. Am I missing something there?

Might anyone know that has IE 7?

Should I maybe just update to IE 8? Advantages? Disadvantages?

It seems there should be some way to get the setting right in IE. btw...a friend had been here, so when I went to the Windows live log-in page it was also showing her email addy too. Just for kicks and giggles I clicked on her email addy to see it if would go to her In box without asking for a password. No go...it asked for a password on hers.

If I understand you correctly clearing the cache will do it, but the list will rebuild again with IE use. Perhaps, Tool>Internet Options>Content tab>Auto Complete Settings>Check or uncheck what you wish>OK out. Depending on the action you take this would restrict or prohibit the cache building. In the alternative while in the Settings you could just click on the "Delete Auto Complete History". DA

It was a lot of work trying to find the "where" to add a contact. But I found it (Hotmail / Outlook). Go the following link "after you have already logged into your hotmail account": https://people.live.com/ You can add your new contact here at any time, don't have to wait for an email to come in from your new contact, at the top of the page you just click on "New" and you will get the fields to add your new contact. It seems a dumb way of doing it, I couldn't find any other way. I hope this helps.

Hello again all! (this threads' gettin' kinda interesting!) Paintguy- Which C2 red took you 5 coats over the ACS-primer?!?!? That's nuts! Steve-va- Has a point about bright tones. The Bright-Yellow, Red, & Magenta colorants are very transparent...no matter what brand they are. Plus, a Lemon-yellow color would have to be made in a "neutral"-base, which by it's nature is very sheer, allowing bright colors to be made. * Some companies, including ACE-Royal, have special Red & Yellow bases. * These have colored pigment IN POWDER FORM added at the factory. Adding liquid colorant at store-level to do a Lemon color would be so runny you couldn't use it. * Under these kinda colors, the primer can't be grey. It needs to be~75% formula into a primer that can handle all the colorant & still be a primer! As I (& others) mentioned, grays under red are best. * It's gotta be a good/medium "battleship"-gray. * I inquire if the wall is strongly lit. If so, we always advise 3 coats of any Red/Magenta color...even on gray. * Using good, FULL coats, on gray primer, we've never had clients need more than 3 coats of RL. * Most D-I-Y-ers push paint too thin, and we STRESS this point b4 they get out the door. * 4 FULL roller re-loads in a 3'x8' column, followed by a light ceiling-to-floor "sweep" works well. * Tool-quality is crucial as well. premier, the window isn't as small as it looks in the photo I posted. Not really an expert at taking digital photos. budge1, looks like someone found your example - and I like it. I am looking on the interet to find some material I like. Not that I need a sewing project now, but chances of finding the colors I want already made is probably very slim. I think a lot of little things wouldn't be good either - either just one teal or aqua clock or a valance. dekr8 - are those your curtains? Did you make them or do they come already made up? If you made them, did you use a pattern? I really like that idea. I can almost picture some brown and aqua valance hanging from those pegs - I like the use of pegs - different than most valances. The first material, (link posted below) edged in brown would look great on my window I think. DH and I love aqua too. We once went to look at a boat and when we walked up and saw the interior was aqua, we just looked at one another and knew we were going to buy it. This is the first time we have used it in our decorating. Well except maybe years ago when the southwest type colors were in. retro cotton fabric, scroll down for photo vintage hip chocolate and brown Thanks for everyone's help. I have never bought anything on ebay before, I might try on that first fabric and see how it goes - I have 5 hours to think about it or I could just order one yard - since it is 54 inches wide that is probably all I would need - or I could get two yards and do a couple of pillows for the family room sofa or a table runner for my dark table. Would too much coordination with the same material be too hokey?

exactly clear your cache and clear your cookies in IE that should remove the hotmail.com cookie and then it should ask you to put in your password but you need to go into your IE settings and un check where it says to save passwords, you can set it to NOT save passwords to certain sites. I don't use Ie anymore and am on linux so can not go look to see where that is in the internet options.

Whew...I finally just set it so it won't remember me at all when I click on the Hotmail in favorites. I now have to fill in both the email addy and the password, but that is fine. I'm guessing there is no way to have it set up nice like in Firefox, but since I only have to use IE in an occasional emergency, that's fine.
