Hey, Bill. You know, I also do a bleach bath and it's based on what you wrote a couple months ago in a seed-saving thread. Four parts water to one part bleach for about two to five minutes. I also do the scrub you wrote about in that same thread. It just seemed logical to give the gel removal some mechanical help at the start. I should have thanked you before, but I'm definitely thanking you now. All throughout my processing of the seeds, I'm culling out the undesirable seeds. (My bamboo skewer and I have a mission.) :>) My wife kids me about how meticulous I am. I also use a skewer to spread the seeds out on the cheap paper plates as Bill suggested. I end up moving every seed to a position where it doesn't touch any other seed and that allows me to execute my final culling. So, thanks again, Bill. To know that I am using processes which are very similar to those of an experienced tomato-ologist like you does wonders for my confidence. I also want to thank Dr. Carolyn. It was Dr. C.'s posts that helped me break down all the info and see the actual task (get rid of the gel). She helped me understand that the gel was there to keep the seeds from germinating inside the tomato (although, this happens on rare occasions - but that is a defect) So, I want to thank her as well. My two to three day process doesn't stink half as bad as some of her posts have suggested. LOL :>) I have also concluded that the little bit of tap water I put into the juice and seeds slows down the process. I think it may be the chlorine in that tap water. As soon as that evaporates off, the fermentation really gets going. It's hard to only thank a couple of folks. There are so many others that added their indorsements to the subject. Digdirt, wvtomatoman, jean, trudi, suze, and a host of others. Thanks for caring about folks you have never met face to face. The combined knowledge that is present here is an extremely powerful entity. Lastly, I've always said that the best thing about knowing something happens when you're allowed to pass it on to others. Thanks for your kind words . . . and your enabling (LOL) ;^D I do have to make one correction, though: the gold & white plates were $1 each, not $2. Patty: girl, you get out a lot! I've seen your bargains, but if you want to zip down here, we can go out bargain hunting together and really do some damage! Jane: you have the turquoise? I saw a few of those recently; they're lovely! I have 4 (or 6?) of the same pattern in the cream and really like them. It's scary when you have so many dishes you can't remember things like that! You should have seen DD yesterday when she saw the 3 new groups of dishes (ROFLMAO). There was a lot of eye rolling! Jeanne: yes, you are a very bad/good enabler! I plan on checking out some tablescape pics here to inspire me. Kathleen: thanks. If you have any pics of white & gold tables, I'd love to see them. I need inspiration. Punk: Thanks! LOL, OJ. I think a lot of us could use a little help along those lines. Thistledew, I clicked on the link and that looks like a really nice steamer. I have a Haan and really like it. I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy cleaning your floors more than with a mop and bucket. Let us know what you think, okay?

I am not sure about painting tile...it's not intended to be painted and I am not sure how the paint would hold up. (I.e. it might be okay in the beginning, but tend to chip badly because the paint won't really stick to it). But if someone who knows about painting tiles thinks it is okay, then their opinion should override since I don't know anything about painting tile. If you want to change something, I would change something which can be painted, like the wood trim around your doors and windows and the white shelves. Another thing you can do is paint the interior of any open cabinets (like the one on the wall to the right of your stove). Marcolo suggested green and I think that might look very nice with the white tile and brown wall paint.

I have to thank all of you here (well and Mr. B for pushing me to the computer and telling me to "Just Do It"). If not for this message board I would never have known of the wonderful world of tablescaping. I would have never have found the creative outlet I so needed. I would have never have found such enthusiastic enablers, cheerleaders and trusted friends. Your sharing of your own talents and encouraging words to all that enter here are so very special to me! Really, my blog is dedicated to all of you here, my dear sweet wonderful GardenWeb sisters (and occasional brother)! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I second everything everybody else has said. I thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog and seeing your great pics. You have such a pretty yard and I think I may have already told you how envious I am over your beautiful new dinning room. I sure do like those summer dishes a lot. Don't know which I like better, those or Jeannie's with the flour advertisement. I just love them both. Keep sharing your link with us, you already have a good little fan club. Janet
