Tomato seed fermentation went well but some seeds turned black

I went trough the procedure described in FAQ on fermenting tomato seeds.

I fermented two types, one type was my local big cherries, the other one from some amazing Creole tomatoes we bought in New Orleans. No issues with the cherry seeds, but on the Creole seeds, some turned black! (about half of them) are they good? why did this happen? did I over ferment? (my partner, who is creole, jokes that it is due to the mixed racial heritage of creoles...LOL)

I found a good way to dry them and I like the procedure, seems easier than the way I was doing it before, easier to wash too. I just hope I am doing it right, since I have three more types of tomato seed to ferment.
