Make your own Moss Bunny.....use any bunny figurine and just glue on faux moss, add flowers.

Easter Peeps in (rice krispies) Nests

Decorated Egg Carton.....tho I'd want to have colored eggs instead. (and in my case, faux ones)

Silver and (robin's) Blue Eggs for Spring or Easter

Not actually for a Holiday, tho could be accessorized for any. I love the old silver, wine rack, towel holder idea. Really pretty I think.

Thrift store candle-holders and mirrors from Dollar Store (or Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc)

Love the moss bunny! And why hadn't I thought of rice krispies for nests? Cute idea! Love the robin's blue eggs with the silver...very elegant looking and the towel rack is lovely too! So many great ideas...too bad I don't have room for all of them! TFS~

Shamefully, we have not been taking very good care of it. We have in the past fertilized sporadically with commercial fertilizers. Once to maybe 3 times a year. We just put down the Scott's fertilizer with Halts. When the forsythia are in bloom, right? I will have to measure the mower height and I *think* I have DH convinced to mulch this year (unless we let it get too high). We also haven't watered it in the dead of summer ever, really. I guess it would be easy enough to measure rainfall (and water deeply once a week! See, I have been reading!) I guess I probably know enough to think if we just fertilize, water when needed, mow at the right height, try to keep the weeds away (which stronger turf will help with), and seed in the fall we could be in pretty good - or at least much better - shape. But I'll take validation on that or any further advice...websites, plans, ideas for how to transition to more environmentally friendly fertilizers. I guess I don't know where to go for that stuff - I imagine I would have to drive out to the farm supply stores far, far away for some of the things I have read about on here (which are escaping me at the moment, of course). Although I guess to do that 1-2 times a year wouldn't be terrible depending on the volume we would have to store and the storage properties. I'm open to ideas!

Too much of a chance for a popularity contest. A member should obtain as much information in total as possible and then make their own decision based on that information. Why do posters have to approve of a suggestion? Just because someone disagrees with the suggestion, or the suggestion is one of several possibilities how is it automatically "thumbs down". There is already a declining number of problem solving contributors in case anyone hasn't noticed so why do anything that might drive more away. DA

Oh, I so love Discworld. I got my first taste of Pratchett in the book he wrote with Neil Gaiman Good Omen, and fell in love, and later got hooked on his others. Lately Pratchett's Disc books have been less enjoyable - he has a tendency to want to hit you over the head with his message - but his first ones were great fun. But like you, I know other folks who just can't take him, but love the same sci/fantasy stuff that I do. Piers Anthony was like that for my DH. When we were first going together, he was browsing through my books and wanted to know what this one shelf was all about. Well, it was Xanth. I told him how I devoured them in college, and that he'd no doubt love them. So he took the whole shelf home with him. It was a while before I asked him what he thought, and he sheepishly said 'will you hate me if I tell you I couldn't stomach passed the first?" Well of course not - but then I decided to have a re-read. Oh my gawd. Pretty horrid. But wonderful memories.

When my daughter went to college, she went on a 4 yr Army ROTC scholarship. This meant that during the summer between her junior and senior years, she had to go to Ft Bragg for "Camp All-America" - it was boot camp for college ROTC members. My daughter is very good at making friends quickly, so she made friends with several girls in her company. She chose the "best of what was available". One girl, was half-Korean and seemed like a smart very nice girl. Her parents lived nearby and came to visit when it was allowed. They had the girls over to their house for dinner one night when they had leave. My daughter walked into the LR and saw a HUGE portrait of a Korean man, and assumed it was a relative. NO, it was the founder of the Moonies and this family (father was career military) were all Moonies. She had never heard of them but quickly discovered what they were. Quite an experience beyond the Ft Bragg boot camp. She said it was downright scary how "programed" they were and they were clearly recruiting new members (her included!).

Hey! I love that mirror/candleholder serving piece too.
Also like the moss bunny, but for some reason, I think it sounds easier than it looks. I want someone to try this out and let me know how it goes.

In the meantime, I'll be looking for mirrors in graduated sizes.

Oh those mirrors w/candleholders...delightful...that could be alot of fun for lots of holidayS! and that bunny...pretty cool! Lots of good ideas here...the egg carton would be a simple one ...fun! But the peeps & Rice Krispies...so cute (I don't like peeps tho...darn)...nor do my Gr'kids! (double darn) TFS, PM...thinking about you & good to hear from you! Jeanne S.

Karen, good to see you back and posting fun ideas! I like everything you found. The moss bunny is so neat. I have moss but I can't see myself doing that nice of a job on one.

I have a DD and sis that love peeps so I may make some of those. The egg carton w/pic is so neat. I agree, adding some color would be a nice touch to the eggs. The silver and blue are striking together.

So glad you mentioned the towel rack was a wine holder. I really like this. I have a wine holder that would be cute decorated. You've got my mind going now.LOL

The candle-holders and mirrors are such a neat look. I keep forgetting I have a stacker. Will have to drag it out and try putting something together on it.

Fun pics, tho I agree that the moss probably wouldn't go on that smooth if I tried doing it! LOL Had a coworker who used to make the nest out of those chow mein noodles and she put the little jelly bean eggs in them. Like the look of the old silver trays on the rack too. TFS

So many nice ideas here Karen..
as much as I like the mirror candleholders,
my favorite is the silver wine/towel holder.
Such a simple idea that looks very pretty.

Karen, love that moss covered bunny. I"ll have to watch for a bunny that would work for that one. I have several big cement bunnies in my yard, but they would be pretty big and heavy to try this with. I am wondering if the little ones that you find in the $store for the kiddies would work. They might be so light that you would need to cut a slit in them to weight them down with sand or something heavy so they wouldn't tumble over, but that could be covered with tape and the moss so ir wouldn't matter. I really like the stacked mirrors too. That is another one I might have to try, just one big problem===to many things I love for the room that I have to display things. Glad you are posting again.
