Your dishes are very pretty. They are "snow flakey" but will also have that fiesta look, if you decide to go that way with them.

Thats a beautiful set and it looks great with your other decor. The crochet placemats is an idea I might have to steal. And I like how you have the crochet effect in your centerpiece too. I love the etched stemware you have. Looking great!! My DH doesnt like the centerpiece in the middle either - I dont have such a long table though so I just move it away when we are eating. :)

Lynn, your new dishes are beautiful, love the colour of blue and your stemware and accessories go well with them. Your dining room table and chairs are gorgeous...I would love such a long table so I could put even more decor on it!! I don't give DH an option of a centerpiece, it stays and we just have to pass the food along as there is no room to set it on the table. He doesn't dare object! LOL!

What a neat surprise to see your pretty tablescape post when I signed on. Those dishes are really pretty and will work well for many occassions I think. I really love how the salad plate is different from the big plate. I have some crochet placemats too, have had them for years and love them against a wood toned table. Nice stemware and I love your crystal looking braches you used for the centerpiece too. Glad you had fun doing it and that your family liked it too. TFS Luvs

This morning at breakfast (we eat in our dining room for every dinner but only weekend breakfasts) I got to thinking that I need to start looking for some casual blue or white placemats, too, as most of mine tend towards the red or greens. And then I started to think about a coordinating arrangement for the buffet, which is right by the table. Hmmmmm, this can get addicting!
Luvs: I want to buy more of the crochet placemats but am having a hard time finding them . . . now that I'm looking! Do you use yours for V's Day, too?
DD: Too funny . . . husbands! We actually have the buffet right behind DH's chair, but we don't put food on it except when we have a full table of people, like on Christmas Day. I never even think to use it for our everyday dinners, but should.

Mo: thanks! I was inspired by the placemats and was glad I had a runner that would work with them. Let me know where you find anymore crochet placemats, will you? I'd love to get more, as I only have four.
NCnana: they do kind of look fiesta-ish, don't they? I hadn't seen that until you mentioned it! They also have a slightly Asian look to them. I have some very Asian salad plates that I'm hoping will work with them, as well.

The dishes are very pretty and depending on the color of accessories I can see them being used several times a year. They do have a snowflake look but will also have a festive summer look with red or yellow. I also like the reverse color for some of the pieces - gives you more versitility - Thanks for sharing .......

I agree with everyone above..lovely dishes. I'm partial to B&W..and this lovely, Dark Rich Blue patten is really striking. I agree with Lynne..I can see them paired up with some, vibriant color combinations. I like how you displayed the Winter Deer Ice Bucket, on the Cake Stand..it's not only a beautiful piece, but very different.

Very pretty Lynn. I like the contrast of the white placemats with the dark blue/white plates against the mahogany table. This is a set that will take you from winter through summer by just changing the accessories. How nice to add such a versatile set to your collection. What does DH think? LOL.....does he notice these things?

I LOVE THOSE PLATES! See... I come in here and BAM! theres something else I want to buy. Terrible terrible people! :) Its a shame I will have to pass on these they would be perfect to mix and match with an all navy blue set I already have.

Your table setting is just perfect! Fab job! I love the crystal branches in the centerpiece. I keep saying one year when I do a christmas winter theme I will make some of those.

You all are such fun friends . . . and so darned talented, too! Many thanks for the compliments on my table (I bought it used, you know, at a consignment & antique store locally last May). As for these great new plates, they're from Target and were only $5 each. So far, I've only bought 4 dinner plates, but plan to buy the salad plates this Tuesday, since DH likes them and so do I. Let me be frank here, I buy most of my decs at deep discount, on sale or at consignemnt shops. That's just the kind of person I am . . . whether you call it cheap, frugal or whatever, I really pride myself on saving money and not buying unless I can pay cash for it (I have deep Quaker and Catholic roots, which DH says, both inspires and inhibits me . . . and makes me feel terribly guilty at times. LOL!). Anyhoo, I didn't want anyone to think that I've gone out and bought and total new set of dishes just for some flighty reason. But . . . that said, this forum has been such fun, as it inspires my creative side immensely.
Black Thumb, those are pretty ddishes, but check out the prices my set. They're very reasonable, especially if you can buy them separately, like I can at Target. I do NOT need any more cups, so I'm just buying the dinner and salad plates.

Lynne, I love it that you look for frugal finds. That's my kind of shopping too. I figure if I can find neat things at a bargain price, then I have money left over to buy more things. Plus it's kind of fun to create a nice look without spending a bunch. I am just totally amazed at how high some of the dishware can be! And after being on here for awhile, I actually think the table is allot more interesting with a mix and match approach. So keep on doing exactly what you are--I love it! Luvs

Lynn, I think many of us here...most of us here...look for great bargains and sales. Thrift shops, yard sales, etc.
I guess its frugal shopping, but I think its more the thrill of the hunt! LOL

Your tablesetting is lovely, but I am so taken by the table and chairs themselves. I remember an earlier post about you getting this set. Its just beautiful.
