Blue Star 'servicing'

Hi All,

After much deliberation, I decided to go with a Blue Star 24" range,

and it is exactly right for the space. I also purchased a six-year warranty

with it. Since delivery, an outside company connected with Blue Star

has been calling me repeatedly asking/telling me to agree to have one

of their people come over to "service" the stove. I recently spoke with them,

and they told me that a) there would be no charge for the servicing but b)

they would need to look at my stove to ensure the warranty.

Have any of you had experiences with this? Is the "servicing" necessary? What exactly are they looking for? After spending nearly $4000 on a range, I think the warranty should be good without this added, and intrusive, check up. Would it be OK to just ignore the calls, or is this really necessary to keep the warranty? Thanks so much for your words of advice!
