Frameless Shower Door - Good Idea??

We're thinking of getting a frameless glass door for our shower stall and were wondering if others on this forum might tell us about their experience with such a thing. Since this will be an expensive custom fitted installation, we want to be confident we're not going to be disappointed.

Some details: Our tiled stall shower is 45" wide & 34.5" deep. The opening where the door would go is 25" wide & it's centered on the near 45" side. We have 2 wall-mounted shower spouts centered on the short walls. One is stationary & the other is hand-held. There is a "curb" that you step over to enter the shower; it's 4.5" high.

Our major question is about leaks: How big a problem are they and can that be managed? The door we are considering can open both into the shower and out. We thought that would be a good idea so that we could pull the door into the shower to get out after showering so that water dripping on the door would not spill onto the floor outside. Will that work? Also, with a frameless door, since there will probably be tiny "cracks" between the door and the tile when the door is closed, how much should we worry about water spilling out through the cracks? Or is there a sealer of some kind that can be put onto the sides of the door without spoiling the frameless look? The shower spouts are about 18" from where the cracks would be. Final question: We were thinking of getting something other than clear glass because it would show water marks too much. Aside from personal preference, is there any reason to select or stay away from a particular glass?
