Help with placement of shower door vs shower head
Comments (4)The builder messed it up and did tell me today that they would change it. However, he did point out I might have a problem reaching the shower controls if I put the door where I want it. Therefore, they've agreed to switch it to a sliding door. It will solve all of our issues. I'll just have to get used to getting in the shower on the other end...but based on the couple responses it sounds pretty normal to enter the shower on the same side as the head. Thanks for the input!...See MoreCan diverters and valve be on opposite wall of shower head?
Comments (2)You can do it. He's being lazy because it means more piping. Pressure will have nothing to do with it unless the valves reduce the pressure *a lot*. Not sure how the layout is exactly, but you could run the pipes after the valve up to the ceiling and then down for where the showerhead is. Or run around the perimeter. FWIW, we have 3 showerheads, with two of the valves near the door (and the main showerhead) but one in the back corner for a handshower, near the shower seat. No problems....See MoreIs my shower to small for frameless shower door?
Comments (9)Lol (I'm reading the comments thus far).. I did learn I have the u channel set up. Thanks John. Back to the org post, I'm no pro but my shower is about 46 inches wide. If you have a 42" opening then can't the installer do a set up similar to mine, but with a door that is a couple inches less in width? The door I have is the widest I could go, per the installer, so I don't see why you couldn't just do a door a couple inches less in width with the same fixed side??? By the way, my installer let me scroll thru pics on his phone of his past work. I saw all sizes with both u channels (aka the strip lol) and clamps.. My glass is 3/8" thick... Half inch cost more of course. I didn't even have him quote me half inch... Let us know what you find out...See Moreoverhead rain shower opposite shower door?
Comments (2)As long as the water is not bouncing off the door, you should have no problem. A rain showerhead direct the water straight down, so it's the perfect choice for this situation....See Morejakkom
