We were in a similar situation last week, I know what you are going through... Below are how we picked out our plumbing fixtures: We first called our contractor for a list of exact parts/items we needed including diameters, finishing, size (length, width and height)..etc. so that we would not leave out anything. The trustworthy plumber we have been using for the last 17 years told us that Delta has good products. So we focus on Delta and its sister brands such as Hansgrohe and Brizo (hope this is correct). We like brushed nickel, modern/contemporary styles that further scaled down the selections. After we found the sink/vanity faucet we liked, we picked matching shower and tub fixtures. Once we decided what we wanted, we sent the list to our contractor for confirmation, then we placed the orders. We ended with a Hansgrohe system that fit the design. Since you have time constraint, Amazon would be a good "one stop" shopping place with their fast delivery. I compared the quotes of a list of fixtures from local stores with Amazon's, the prices we got from the local shop were competitive, but Amazon's were more than $100 lower. The actual savings would be more when factoring in the free shipping, and tax. When online shopping, make sure to check return policy and associated restocking fees. Enjoying your shopping.

We have one, though it's 5 years old so may not be comparable to current models. I'd need to look it up to find the exact model and flow, but we've been happy with it. I mainly notice the difference when I visit hotels or other places with very heavy flow shower heads, but at home I'm used to it, so I don't really think about it. Definely fine for washing hair! I was a little reluctant to go the handheld only route (husband chose this and felt strongly about it) but that has actually worked out really well. We use the handheld feature all the time with dogs and kids and it works quite nicely as a main shower. If you're worried about the flow, though, maybe get the 2.0? Both are much more water efficient than older shower heads and at least on ours, we have some settings that use less water and some that use more, even within the lower flow. HTH!

We just completed a smaller shower than yours (~36x36). We had a similar sized existing shower downstairs with only a fixed shower head. In the new small shower we put ONLY a handheld on a slider bar. For everyday showering purposes, I leave the shower bracket in one spot on the slider bar. When DH uses that shower (which he has not yet!) he can move the head up. When I clean, I can take the handheld off the bracket. The handheld is essentially functioning as a "fixed" head. The reason I go into this on your post is that since I've had the handheld on a slider bar in the new shower, I really want a handheld in the old shower (to make cleaning easier). DH and I were just discussing the options for the existing shower and I asked him if he wanted to keep the fixed shower head (he primarily uses the old shower) and add a handheld on a fixed bracket with a diverter or add a handheld on a slider bar with a diverter. His answer was - just get rid of the fixed head and install the handheld on a slider as the only shower head. So, you might want to consider that the handheld can act as your fixed and you won't have the problem of switching the diverter every time you get in. Our slider bar is just above the valve, so the location is where a fixed head normally goes - and you can still move it lower for children, or just to make the shower head hit your shoulders or back, etc.

We have all grohe hand shower with bar in all 3 bathrooms. In the guest bath we went with the Relexa top 4 shower bar set and for the kids and master, we used Movario 5 shower bar set. Since I had to lived in my home theater for 3 weeks, I had to use the guest bath during that time. We choose the Relexa based on price and with the 24" bar it fits well for the shower is over a tub. It works well but he 4 spray patterns is more like 3. The wide spray is almost the same as the pulsing becuase the pulsing is so week. The jet spray is OK but not like any message jet. It works well as a basic shower. If you want to use it like rain shower, I would not recomend it. The Movario is much better (cost more too). With the longer bar, it can accomendiate both of us and our kids. The kids can put the head on the lower fixed mount and we could put it on the ajustable mount for our needs. We also like the look better. Note the cover to the mount is plastic not metal. The rotating shower head can be adjusted and when mounted low can spray directly to you lower back (like one of those wall jets but only 1 unless you have more shower heads). We have only use it this way once or twice. The spray pattern are also better, you can select jet or Massage depend on how much force you want. The rain mode is just normal with more spray lines in the middle but our kids loved it and coverage is good. Although the pressure does reduce a little bit (very little), it is not exactly like one of those big head rain shower. One more thing, the Relexa does have a quick release of the shower head that I find could be useful if it needs to be cleaned out. The Movario does not.
