Window open or closed w/exhaust fan in bathroom?

Hi, now that it's COLD here in the northeast, I have to ask anyone knowledgable whether we should have our bathroom window open while the exhaust fan is running after a shower. We have a small 6x8 1960s bathroom with a fan that originally vented only to the attic. We recently put on a new roof, and added LOTS of venting as well as venting the bath fan out the roof properly. My husband insists on opening the window during a shower (the window is over the tub) and keeps it open for about half an hour afterwards. I don't see how bringing in freezing cold outside air helps to eliminate the moisture. I think the fan is around 70cfm, and the room is soaking after a shower--walls, vanity, every surface. He says if we don't open the window, we're just pulling heat out of the bathroom. Any insights would be helpful. Thanks in advance!
