Its a Toss Up Between These 2 Bosch DWs. What do you think?
Comments (11)Thanks for your input. I like the small LCD up front because it lets you know whats going on. which is why i was leaning toward it. That and a 30 min quick wash, i dont think the 800 Plus has. I think the racks are different between the 800 series and the 800 plus. The 800 Plus being nicer which is a concern. I think the 800 racks are the same as the 500 series. Do you guys find the 3rd rack takes up too much space in away from the "middle" (the old top rack)? I can get the SHX68R55UC for $900 each. while keeping in mind I will have 2 of these units on either side of the sink (so space isnt too much of an issue). Do you think its still worth the extra $200 a unit?...See MoreRE: Bosch DW gives off funny smell after several days of non-use.
Comments (2)That makes a lot of sense. I replaced the Bosch after 2 weeks (the odor was one of the reasons) and everything had been done correctly. And I tried all the fixes the Bosch help line told me. Got a Kitchenaid in its place and not once has that happened. I got so tired of folks saying that I must be doing something wrong. Nice to be validated like this. I don't understand why others don't have the same odor. But maybe they just don't notice it like I did....See MoreBosch D/W handle piece cracked off-anyone else??
Comments (46)Amazing what you can find on the internet. I have the SAME exact problem with my dishwasher. Only, it is isn't Bosch it is GE. Handle has plastic endcaps, which of course after owning it only a few months, first started to crack and then just crumbled. GE came to replace it under warranty. It was not so easy to replace, he had to take the door apart. I said there is no way it will last. He said it will, he has never heard of this problem. How can you make a piece like that out of plastic? Well, it has been a few months, I took a look and sure enough, it has started to develop a crack again. I got an extended warranty on it because of this. I am sure I will be using it plenty of times. Who designs these things???...See MoreThree DW repairmen - Bosch now worse off than before.
Comments (5)Since the techs are finding debris in the d/w here are a couple things to try yourself. 1.)Remove both spray arms and run the d/w throught a quick rinse. Make sure the filter is securely in place. This will flush out anything left in the water system. While the rinse is running closely inspect the arms to make sure they are free of debris. 2.) check your drain line under the sink to make sure a high loop is there. Without the high loop the d/w drain pump will not pump correctly. While checking the drain line pull on it to see if it was left coiled behind the machine. This will mean the drain hose didn't have the high loop installed correctly. The hose should be pulled completely through the cabinet hole with none left behind the machine. Sometimes if a tech pulls out the unit the high loop doesn't get reinstalled after they are through. If you do have another tech out have him look at the check valve next to the drain pump impeller to make sure it's not stuck or blocked....See Morehilltop1155
