Hey Dan, I did a quick internet search, as you probably have also and don't find anything close in the way of square. What I did find and maybe an alternative idea, is a bar or prep sink which is made for kitchen use but would work for a bathroom. Might be deeper than the usual bathroom sink and the drain would be larger. I have given you a link below of a Elkay brand granite sink available in white for $298 just to give you an idea of something to look for.

Kohler Kathryn? Not quite square--I think it's 17x14 in the small model and 21x14 in the large.

Kohler also makes a rectangular sink called the Archer that I think is less pricey than the Kathryn. I don't recall seeing any square sinks when I was picking bathroom fixtures.

Try American Standard.. ours is rectangular, and I don't see any completely square under mounts.. but this one was as close to square as I saw in the show room.

Ours is called Studio, rectangular, and... lovely!

Thanks for the suggestions! I increased my price filter on the Kohler website and got a few options. The Kathryn or the Ladena may work. I'm not too keen on the multi faceted look of the Archer. I could live with it though. We'll see what my wife thinks. One that I really like is the Irontone (see link) which I think would look awesome. The only problem is that it doesn't have an overflow. My concern with that is that this bathroom will be mainly for my two little girls. Anyone have any thoughts on that? How important is an overflow? Obviously it's good to have... hmmmm.

Overflow is useful, but do you monitor them? I would worry more about an overflow in a tub.

I have the Kathryn (as noted above) and had the Ladena in my old house. I liked them both. The Laden has a round bottom (as you can see--shaped like semicircle). It's nice looking, and a bit more modern. The Kathryn we've used in renovating an old house and I think it fits the period quite nicely. Flat bottomed sinks don't self-clean as well, however (e.g., toothpaste has to be "swished" out).

Not sure if you checked Lowes...or for that matter if you have them in Canada...but I saw a couple when I was in my local one yesterday. Wasn't looking closely at them, but I had seen your post yesterday so I guess they caught my attention. Didn't look at prices or exact squareness, but they did have a couple of different choices.

I just installed the Archer, which is a small rectangular sink with a slight curve at the front. I like it a lot, and it's half the price of the Kathryn. If you need big, go with Kathryn; if you need small, Archer or Ladena. I paid $89US for mine.

I checked out American Standard as countrycottageklutz mentioned above and although I'm not to fond of the one she linked (weave deail doesn't fit our style). they seem to have a couple of options. I like the Kohler one I linked though. Too bad about the overflow or it would be a no brainer for me.

Heimert, what do you mean by "do you monitor them" in your post above? You asking about the kids using the sink or the overflow? I suppose once the kids are old enough to reach the faucet on their own they'll be old enough to not make it flood. We're going to use Ikea kitchen cabinets for the vanity because of price and features. Anyways, if I should be monitoring my overflows somehow, please let me know.

I would say if you had boys you might need to monitor them to keep them from deliberately overflowing the sink even if it did have a built in overflow. My girls were not as mischievous.

We are going with Toto's LT542G rectangular undermount. We were between that one and the Ladena - the Toto is less expensive and has the "sanagloss" which I have heard great things about relative to keeping things clean. It is VERY rectangular though (19x12-3/8). We bought ours locally but here is a link to a site so you can see a pic.

well, thanks for all the responses and suggestions. i showed my wife the kohler irontine that i linked above and she really likes it. looks like that may be the one. the advantage that it has over the others (other than its stunning looks) is that it's only 16" wide. this will allow us to use more of our limited vanity width (48") for drawers rather than a sink cabinet.

going to start a new thread to ask if anyone has experience with the irontone.
