30' free standing gas range Help!

I am taking the plunge and after 31 years of cooking on electric ranges, (I currently have a double oven GE Profile smooth top, which I do not like as pots slide across the top and it is hard to keep the glass from scratching) I am going to switch to gas. We do not have natural gas lines here in this part of Florida so I am having the gas company run a propane line. Question is, what range to buy? This is new territory for me. I need a 30" free standing. I cook every evening but I am not a huge baker. Nor,am I a gormet cook. Just down home southern fare. I really do not want to spend more than $1000.00. A good, reliable, easy to use range for a novice. Any advice will be very much appreciated. I can not wait to start cooking on my gas range!
