Help me identify...

my latest treasure! Inherited a salad bowl that is quite different. I don't have a digital camera so try and imagine this. It's a multi-sided porcelain bowl with silverplate around the rim. (It's an actual metal strip that's bent over the rim). The marks on the rim are E.P.N.S. and S & B. The only marks on the bottom are ENGLAND and what looks like A 404 - there's also the three bumps in a triangle around the ENGLAND stamp. The outside of the bowl is painted with 4 seperate clusters of pink roses. But the thing that really sets this salad bowl apart, is that it comes with matching salad fork/spoon set. Same porcelain painted handles and same stamps in the silver.

Can anyone give me an approximate date on this or what the S & B stands for? I'm going to take a picture with my regular camera and if it comes out clear, I'll have someone post a picture of it (because I don't know how to do that!)

Would be alomost impossible to tell just what the bowl part is.....
Is the "England" impressed? raised or in ink...under the glaze?
S and B is the name of the silver company....and ESPN is Electro Plated nickle Silver....and was used for a mark often around the turn of the last century.
A picture will be nice!

Thanks for the answer, Linda. The ENGLAND is stamped in ink under the glaze - there is a crackle finish over the entire bowl. I just have a regular camera, but I'm going to take some pictures of the bowl & the serving pieces. I don't know how to post them, but could email them to you to have a look at when I get them developed.

The netting underneath the springs is damaged which resulted in the straw cushion filling falling out of the chair. So in order to make it a working/comfortable chair I need to restuff/refill the straw and attach a new netting. Then I wanted to lightly sand the entire chair and apply a new layer of oak stain. This most recent pic is pretty cool for a couple reasons, among them: The larger plant in the middle (and the one to the right in the foreground) is an example of a plant that I repotted in the brief pause after it had fully opened but before it started growing its first fascicle. The smaller plants (mostly out of focus) show individuals left to grow their first fascicles before repotting. Notice how much bigger the other 2 are at the same age!
