We grew "Lundy Lane" and I found it to be a very lovely mostly-yellow Pernetiana. Its' foliage is a very light-medium green, and very attractive. One caveat: of all the Pernetiana roses I've grown it suffered the most badly from blackspot. I have an organic rose garden and never sprayed it with anything other than Cornell. It continued to bloom c. 3 weeks later in Autumn than my other Pernetiana roses, which also endeared it to me. For comparison, these are healthier Pernetiana roses for our area, near Oakland, California. I never needed to spray theses with anything: "Duquesa de Penaranda" the healthiest of all Pernetiana roses in our area. The climbing form is fantastic!!! "Soliel d'Or" "President Herbert Hoover" the most fragrant of the Pernetiana roses to my nose. "Gruss an Coberg" "Mari Dot" a fabulous Dot rose but very small on her own roots, I'd love it on rootstock. Luxrosa

nosoccermom, I would be happy to go with a large piece of artwork instead, but I thought because this area doesn't get as much natural light, a mirror would work. The sun that comes in the windows on the opposite side of the room could reflect off the mirror. My living area and dining area are open to each other. justgotabme, thanks for the ideas. If the frames on the mirrors are painted a color close to the buffet, it would tie in with the buffet and also the thingamajiggers on the mirrors themselves. tuesday, I think black on the frames would look good too. I think that would look even better than the brown. Yes, to the more substanial looking centerpiece. I will have to look for Trailrunners post. Thank you. Here's the view from the dining area into the living area where the windows are.

Careful, those are postal regulations, not Dept. of Agriculture regs. Light Brown Apple Moth quarantine for all nursery stock from quarantined areas (includes the list of quarantined counties);Imported Fire Ants quarantine for listed specific areas; I would check with the State Agricultural Department before moving any potted plants from one county to the next. Some counties can't provide propagated roses for donations to sales in other counties without State inspections. It depends whether the shipping area is under quarantine for pests and/or diseases if the plant can be moved into the receiving area. Do you remember the discussions in the past about how expensive the phytosanitary certificates were for Vintage to ship roses, while other sources didn't have to provide them? Vintage was in several quarantine areas for specific issues where Visalia wasn't. You should check to insure the sending location isn't under quarantine for something your area doesn't already have.
