They are probably “thrips” in the adult flying stage. They need moisture, but I’ve still got a problem with them even here in the desert, since they get moisture near my plants. You probably have them in larvae form too. I thought I had a ton of teeny tiny ants in my backyard and under the dog’s water bowl indoors. The larvae are literally only 1mm, so they look like dust until they move. I captured one yesterday in a 7x high resolution handheld microscope setup and was surprised that my “ant” was actually a neon green and black beetle. Here is the damage they cause- they suck nutrients from leaves, and their spit gets into the leaf leaving small yellow or white circles. They can cause a lot of damage pretty quickly. I do not know how to get rid of them safely at this point. Hopefully someone can help out in that department.

Most hardware stores have a collection of those small allen head screws, however they may not have the pointed tip that the bathroom fixture screws generally have. Will it make a difference? Maybe, maybe not... Bring the assembly with you to the store and give it a try... PS- dont expect to find them at Home Cheapo, you really have to stick with a smaller hardware store for something like this.

OK, I got some giants posted and now my itty bitty guys. Here are my smallest agaves to match my giant agave. Here are some seedling A. neo-mexicana that I collected from the roadside west of Hope New Mexico. I probably should move them in . I think 5" of rain is enough. Here are some Dykia plants that I have been nursing along ALL SUMMER LONG!!!!!. It is close to time to bring it inside. Mama gets to live outside with an occasional blanket thrown over her. I thought I would just throw some of her seeds in a pot to see what happened. Sheeesh, they are slow growers. The gaillardia that I tossed out on the gravel 5 days ago are bigger. They came up fast. Here is one for the weird alien fungi category growing in the rock garden. OOPS< almost forgot the small wee ones that have me the most excited. I planted some Silpium albiflorum (SP?) this late summer during that early cool period in some of the ugliest rangy dirt (marl) that I have. They are known as tough birds but this is like putting out babies and chaining them to a hot rock in August. They immediately lost all their remaining foliage. But I am getting some green growth as a reward for all that pick axing. I did improve the sight some with DG. I am waiting on one more plant to make its appearance to complete the threesome that I chiseled into the ground..

@Allison0704 @amykath Thank you. It really isnt too hard. I have hung wallpaper before, for my mother when I was probably 15. She handed me the rolls, and a tub of wallpaper paste and said do this. It really isn't complicated, it's fiddly. The wallpaper I used was very easy to work with. They print the specific # of rolls you want, and they have varying lengths you can order depending on ceiling height. Pattern-wise the top of every roll is the same. This makes it very easy to pattern match. Cutting around outlets and obstacles, like thermostat, is a little hard. Working in a small space is challenging. The first thing they tell you on the Spoonflower website, is 'recruit a friend.' Well there is no way two people were fitting in my powder room. Fortunately I also watched a video on YouTube and she started with, "I am going to do this by myself, it's perfectly OK to do this with 1 person." She actually also addressed my biggest concern was how to handle the fact that my house is crooked, it's over 100 years and there is not a true, plumb, wall anywhere. She stressed not to line up to the ceiling, but to drop a plumbline and line up your first strip to that. That definitely helped me. I also, deliberately picked a pattern that had swoops and curves to hide my home's quirks.
