i get a variety of different woodpeckers here. In the winter when there are not bugs and insects and ants and worms for them to eat they switch to seeds and suet and nuts and dried fruits. you can put nuts or bird seed mix in a tray or platform hung in a tree or from a shepards hook. You can mix your seed and nut mix in some lard and peanut butter and press it into a suet cage. I also have several pine logs about 3 foot tall that i stand on end and the birds land on the stumps and eat from them. i also
have a pan of seeds and nuts on the back porch rail that the woodpeckers and chickadees and siskins land on and eat
I have one flicker woodpecker that hangs from a feeder and eats millet and cracked corn. Some people mix bird seed or nuts or rainens in chunky peanut butter and press it into holes drilled in a hanging branch and call it a suet log.
In early spring the young Lewis's woodpeckers i get eat the Jelly and jam from a bowl i put out for the orioles and tanagers. i make a mix of lard and peanut butter and nuts and mixed bird seed thickened to a stiff ball and press it into the suet cage and hang it out in winter for the downey and he hairy woodpeckers. This winter there is a red naped sapsucker hanging around that loves suet mix flavored with molasses or sorgum pressed into the woodpecker block cage. the flickers especially in spring and summer eat on the ground and cleanup spilt seeds and nuts from the feeders.

I have both a sunflower seed feeder and a suet block. The red belly seems to go for the sunflower seed and prefer vertical placement though he will also eat off the ground and from the tray.

The more common Downey seems to be interested mostly in the suet block and don't bother with stuff off the ground. I think you have the best chance of feeding them if you use some sort of tube feeder, though I wasn't aware of any "woodpecker" mix.

I think I figured out why you may not be seeing woodpeckers at your feeder.........

Hey there blu! I do not recall having seen a Woodpecker specific bag of seed, but I can tell you what the Woodpeckers here in my yard go for. First of all, I have never seen a Woodpecker (other than Flickers)eat from the ground. They will come to suet feeders which hold any type of suet. You can buy suet blocks that are labled "Woodpecker," but I find that they eat it all. They are big fans of Black Oil Sunflower Seed, especially the Sunflower hearts. Of course, they do love peanuts. I find that they tend to feed at any feeder which is easy for them to cling to. So, in answer to your question, I would put the special Woodpecker seed into a screen style feeder like the one I linked for you here.

I occasionally buy the woodpecker seed mixes but usually to beef up a local supermarket birdseed mix when I can't get to my regular supplier. Nice stuff, but expensive. It works in a hopper feeder like the one in lazypup's pic and in a tube feeder if the ports are big.

i have several of the screen mesh type feeders and they are great or some things and not for other things. Cracked corn or nut mixes plug up the screen mesh as the holes are not quite big enough. but the hulled sunflowers or boss or the millet and milo feed thru ok. One remendy i use is i bought a food chopper at Walmart with the steel blades that you pump up and down to chop. they are fast if you are doing a few cups. also i found a bird seed mix at a farm store that is mostly millet and boss that works well in them. they are also good for safflower or hulled sunflower seeds
