Yes mora, we got to see a few pretty leaves, but with the overcast skies and rain they didn't look as brilliant as I'd hoped. None the less, they were beautiful, almost too much to take in! I chronicaled our trip on a bit of paper from the hotel room, must have been pretty impressed with the food because I wrote in great detail where we ate and what we had. :) We put on 2100kms in those few short days, did the Cabot Trail, stayed in Baddeck, Antigonish, Halifax & two nights in Indian Harbour. Got as far south as Lunenburg, and made a trip over to the Wolfville area, drove out to Cape Split. VERY COOL! I've never seen fields of cabbage before, and seeing the red soil out that way was amazing! We were getting pretty road weary on the last day. Wish we'd had more time... ahhh... that's the sign of a good vacation! Thanks for asking!

Thanks, TMFF - that makes perfect sense. This creek running across the road was a Mecca for the eagles. They were fishing and I was trying to follow one as it got off the treetop, skimmed the creek, caught a fish and was flying off. It is only now when I am looking at that set of pictures do I realize there was more than just that one I was tracking as evident in this picture - three in all!

Thanks Gail and TMFF! Belted kingfishers apparently nest in the area of Cape Breton where I saw them in the first week of July,2011. After looking at more of my pics and comparing them with the images on the web, I believe that is what I took pics of.
