birds from Nova Scotia - id please _4

A seabird- not sure what it is. I am afraid they are not very sharp. I tracked this one over a distance. I will post a few of them in this thread and hope someone will be able to identify it.

    Looks like a ring-necked kingfisher to me.

    I believe the proper species name is Belted Kingfisher. This is a male, as it doesn't have the additional chestnut-colored belt across the belly.

    Belted kingfishers apparently nest in the area of Cape Breton where I saw them in the first week of July,2011. After looking at more of my pics and comparing them with the images on the web, I believe that is what I took pics of.
    Folks in this forum are such great resources and willing to share their knowledge!
