Mina lobata/Ipomoea lobata - Spanish Flag-companion

Would I be crazy or do you think it would work to plant my Mina lobata/Ipomoea lobata-Spanish Flag next to my Lady Banks rose, and let it use the Lady Banks as its trellis?
My Lady Banks is currently only stomach high on my arbor. She's the one actually attached to the left of the stone on the arbor:
