Best berry bushes

Hi,

I am looking for suggestions for berry bushes that do nicely in our climate. I would prefer that they are no larger than 4 x 4, drought tolerant, and if they didn't sucker, it would be nice. They are going into a small new strip garden between my fruit trees and a fence - they will be sandwiched in. I might interplant some wild asparagus clumps, too.

Currently I have Pixwell Gooseberries in another part of the garden and they are ideal. I don't even water them anymore - they do great. I tried currants and they didn't do so well, not sure if they didn't like the heavy clay soil or ?? I just put in a couple of raspberry plants.

What else would be snacky-delicious and easy to grow? Just to be clear, these will be watered. I do prefer plants that could survive drought if they had to.

Thanks!

Michelle
