Wow, thanks for the kind words everyone. Sorry I couldn't get back to this sooner. It's been two years of hard work (not counting the 4 years it took to eradicate the running bamboo planted by some long-gone #$%!#& neighbor) but it's been worth every minute. Future plans are to build a stone herb bed, move the compost bin behind the greenhouse, add a brick path from the south entrance (without the arbor) to the shed and adding more containers. It never ends, does it? Jodi, the fence is from Lowe's. It was mis-priced so they ended up giving it to us for half-off. NICE! The arbor/pergola was a find at Home Depot. It was hidden away and it took them about 45 minutes to track down the SKU and price but it was worth the wait. Very rustic, which is exactly what I was looking for. It's not as sturdy and probably won't last as long as some of the heavy-duty cedar arbors I was considering, but it wasn't anywhere near as pricey either. Joytwo, the greenhouse is a Palram Master-Gro Apex. We got it from Home Depot on sale and with free shipping so it was a good deal. It's not a 4-season house but I'm only looking for a season-extender/seed-starter so it should work just fine. Putting it together was, um...interesting (but easier than Harbor Freight, from what I hear). It still needs some finishing work, center path, gravel beds, etc. Hope to post more pix throughout the season and I LOVE seeing everyone else's pictures too. Ok, Jon! OK OK OK. I'm not grumpy, seriously. Just confused here. Just sayin'. I'm in need of routine. What you do is outrageously kind and you have my deepest respect. To think that I thought I may have something to donate to our food bank here---it's laughable now. I'll keep trying, because I'm more stubborn than grumpy, but I definitely need something to work with. I ripped out half of my backyard, including lawn. I moved TEN yards of compost and garden soil from my driveway around the back gate and around another corner and distributed all of this into 14 raised 4x8 beds. And then I moved more of the soil into my used-to-be flower beds so I could plant rambling items there, like winter squash. I'm a tough chick but smallish. But I was serious, man. I've planted 9 fruit trees and have 5 potted figs, a lemon tree, 12 blueberry plants, 4 grapes, six thornless blackberries and a bunch of other stuff I'm forgetting. None of this includes the vegetables, asparagus bed, sweet potato patch (purple of course), and the Partridge in the Pear Tree. I compost, I collect my rabbit's 'berries' and distribute them, I chop leaves from my yard and chip mulch from my prunings. I have 7 ducks and a chicken. I have 3 boys who have no interest in this but I still do it. Oh, I also live in the 'burbs in a normal house on less than a quarter acre and I am absolutely NOT allowed to touch the front yard but imagine their suprise when I secretly plant the six artichoke plants I have been nursing from seed since December of last year. I WANT SOME TOMATOES, YA KNOW? A couple squash, a bean, whatever... :) Whine. Whine. Whine. Angie

It depends on which one, the pink one is called "Dawn" and it blooms really early in the season. So early it took me by surprise, and it's done now when the rest are just starting. One of purples ones is Jackmani, but I didn't put up images of that one yet this year. I have 2 unidentified ones, the lable named and showed an image of a peach clematis, so I got 2. One is purple, one is lavendar! I like the combo, so all is good. That's what happens in the 50% off + aisle at a big box store......LOL. I also have Julia Coravan, which is a burgundy color. I debated whether to cross-post the pictures, but this forum has been slow lately, so I decided it couldn't hurt. Jenny P

Beautiful flowers and setting! I love seeing the full bushes in their contexts, and the roses look fantastic against your house setting. The purple underplantings are perfect, and they really set your roses off to best advantage. I agree that I've never seen Munstead Wood climb that well but it looks fantastic. And my word, that is one huge Belinda's Dream bloom! Just lovely. Cynthia
