your thoughts again on cotoneaster -- and dwarf conifers!

Hello again.

I no longer despise my cotoneasters. I've decided I quite like them where they spill out, arching onto some brick walkways. I am thinking of moving several into this position next spring. But...two will end up on either side of Boxwoods. Is that too boring? Little evergreen foliage next to little evergreen foliage? What else can spill nicely onto brick?

Thank you for your creative ideas!

And I am looking for a 3rd item to add to the mix -- possibly a dwarf conifer. On one side of the brick path (a celtic cross -- two perpendicular lines bisected by a circle) is a dwarf Japanese maple, with cotoneaster and boxwood next to it. On the other side of the path are boxwood and cotoneaster, waiting for a third thing that will balance the Japanese maple -- different, but same "weight". Any thoughts?
