Annuals keep getting bigger and better. Cosmos and Cleome are huge and browelia is really blooming now. Nasturtiums continue to bounce back. Dahlia Bishop of Llandaff was worth the wait. Crazy Love dahlia which got too big for its place is really blooming so I am forgiving it. Queen Elizabeth (the rose) has what may be her final blooms. Boltonia is very nice but behind a huge helenium which is starting to fade. Sedum Autum Joy and especially Spectabile (Bluestone) are making the bees happy. Colchicum came back and is blooming. Hope the other autum crocuses do the same. Starting to cut back some perennials that are fading. Have decided to let the garden tough it out while I am out of town next week. Need to take notes for movement of plants for next spring now. That helenium needs another spot and I dont need a hedge of shasta daisys next to my walk.

Not much here - too busy to hang out in the garden, which means lots of weeding this coming week.

Things have actually started to pick up here. I haven't had to seriously water in almost a week, so all those hours that were previously spent dragging the hose around were now put to good use!

Moved a hydrangea, planted a spirea that was in a pot for two years, planted a styrax japonica tree, and got about 20 plants put in the ground, which is not even a dent in what I need to get planted, (especially since I just got a Bluestone order in!) but it felt good to make a start.

I've also been spreading coffee grounds in my new lasagna beds. Finished the coffee grounds in one, and hope to start in another bed tomorrow.

Washed out some empty pots, and finally cleaning out my milk cartons from winter sowing. I don't like to just throw them away, so I have to empty them, pull off the tape (that's the hard part!) and get them into the recycling. Considering I had over 200 cartons, that's a huge job that I've been putting off, and I made a big dent in it.

Overall, it's been a pretty productive week - for a change, lol!
