Tree Care Class - Southern Oregon

Internode

This message will pertain to only a handful of users on the is forum, but this forum is more regional that the trees forum.

Portland has several landscape / tree degree programs available within a 50 mile radius.

Medford, Ashland, Grants Pass and other southern Oregon cities near there have zero professional level tree care classes. No college program for landscaping.

There will be a tree care class available at Rogue Community College for Tree Care and landscape design pertaining to trees. It will cover quite a bit about soils. That means that the entire body of material will apply to shrubs, gardening, design and trees. It's an arborist's class that knits landscaping and arboriculture together.

It will be in February for 4 Monday nights. There is no degree program for the class, so it is tucked into the community education classes. The schedule has yet to be printed.

The class will have a late start date in February. If you, or anyone you know down in that area, may be interested, calendars should be marked - for the start date, and for enrollment.

When the winter schedule comes out, this is what to look for:

County - Jackson

Course - .216

Sec. - M33

Day - Monday

Dates - 2/27 to 3/20

Cost - $62

Time 7 - 9pm

Location - Rogue Community College

This class will be tailored for home gardeners as well as professionals, but is a professional material class.

Homeowners as well as tree service workers should benefit.

Please advance this message to anyone that may be interested - gardeners, parks, landscapers, tree service workers, friends.

This will be the only college class on tree care in southern Oregon.
