Critique and improve my 12' bed

The tough part is done. Tons of weed (witch grass etc) infested top soil removed from a neglected circular bed about 12' in diameter. I plan to amend and add to remaining soil and mound it 8-12" higher than lawn level. Receives full sun. I'm inexperienced with full sun loving plants. Will my plan work?

- A few clusters of pink tulip bulbs in the middle, forget-me-knots and lambs ears around the edge but not a solid ring around perimeter.

- a few flat rocks so I can get into the bed to weed

- 3 clumps of lupine to bloom mid-June

- remaining areas of the bed devoted to pink coneflower. A few liatris, maybe two clumps of dark pink monarda. Accent toward the front with stella d'oro day lilies. Other accent coronation gold yarrow.

This bed is surrounded by a lot of lawn. About 20' past are my vegetable beds. I have debated putting something tall in the center like a bird house. This bed is part of our view. Distant view is field and forest. I posted here instead of garden design because I wanted help from New England experts. TIA
