best / favorite variegated small hosta(s)?

Yo folks!

I'm looking at putting some small/short/low growing hostas in a raised bed at my folks' place. This would be in northern MI (zone 5) and the bed does get some direct sun near the end of the day -- 4 or 5pm to around 7 maybe 8pm. I'm not interested in the minis (though they are cute lil buggers) but rather hostas that would be ideally be more than 8in tall but top out at no more than 12in tall. In addition, I know my parents would prefer plants with variegated, broad leaves. (And although I know my dad really likes some of the variegated "blues", I realize those likely would loose their blueness due to the sun exposure.) Finally, I really would want to go with plants that are medium to fast growers -- my folks are in their mid 70s and I'd like to use hostas that will fillout nicely while they are still alive to enjoy them.

So based on your experiences, what would you suggest as "good" options?
