Please help with color selection for Living Room and Dining Room
Comments (31)I'm really liking the Capitol White. I think it would look really good in the living/dining area. Here is one picture of some sample boards. Not really large enough to show context, but it works with the space. My concern is I think it might not play nice with the color in the kitchen. Truth be told, I'm not in love with the kitchen color but I don't want to repaint. I've uploaded a photo of the sample boards in the kitchen. Last picture of downstairs bedroom. The plan would be whatever color is in the living room/dining area would flow up the stairwell. So I'd like the new color to play nice with bedroom color. I think it does. Finishing the stairwell massive painting project is next, and then I can get the flooring all put in and be done with the downstairs. I also have sampled out a few other whites too, but will save those for later....See MoreHelp....Need help choosing accent chair for my living room....
Comments (11)I think a rich cream color would look very nice with the rest of the room. I am thinking something very much as the pillows in the left of your photo appear. Then if you're not totally wed to the mirror above the fireplace you can bring in artwork and some candles to pick up the cream of the chair. I assume the recliner you mentioned is in the upper right hand side (where for some reason another commenter moved a television into place.). A pillow or small throw placed on the chair can correlate to the rich cognac color of your sofa and love seat. Good luck....See MoreNeed help with an odd accent wall in open dining/living room
Comments (1)Valspar has identified coordinates for Pale Bloom. Choose one of the darker colors for the stair wall. Be aware that the wall and your kitchen cabinets are going to abut visually, so choose both colors carefully. I like the third box...the Navaho but darker color on the strip with the green for stair wall. https://m.valsparpaint.com/color-detail.php?id=2667 Example of green with brown...See MoreNeed help with living room furniture selection
Comments (3)Nice space! I realize this might be considered heresy in some circles, but I would think about painting the brick wall (same light color as the other walls). That will brighten the space. Regarding seating, do you want leather? That limits color options somewhat. If not, the sky is the limit! Since changing all the seating incolves many decisions, maybe start with just the sofa, leaving the recliners for later?...See More- 11 years ago
