Comments (28)I don't personally have G. Nabonnand, but have heard many people on the forum say good things about it. If you're really interested, you might write a separate post and get reactions from people who actually grow it. Well, I hope Malcolm and all you Mrs. B.R. Cant lovers out there are happy. After having sworn over and over again that I would not buy another rose (and being really sincere about it), the thought of not having "the world's greatest rose" simply would not leave me alone. Over the last few days I've studied my place endlessly, searching for a large flat spot to hold this rose, and there simply was none that had any sun. This morning I had a Eureka! moment as I stood outside the house and looked down the driveway. It's very long and the terrain along it is hilly, but more than halfway down there is a flat spot where what we call the studio is located. About 20 feet away from the studio I found my spot for this rose! It just hadn't occurred to me to plant roses that far from the house but there is a water connection there and a huge rose like that would be a wonderful introduction to the roses around the house that aren't visible until you go around a curve on the driveway. Sanju, it just goes to show where there's a will there's a way. I need another rose like I need three eyes in my head but I've become convinced I have nothing quite like THIS rose in my garden. Oh gosh, how many times have I said that, and it's always been true. They are all different.... Ingrid...See MoreAbout to rip out the soakerhoses (and my hair)!
Comments (3)lehua, Thanks for your reply. This is from the company website: ---------- Specs for Standard Soaker Hose: inside diameter .380, outside diameter .580, wall thickness .100. Gallons per hour, per 100' is approx. 174 gallons per hour (6.6 kgs) at 25 psi, depending on inlet pressure, water hardness. ---------- I've got it hooked up to 0.580 tubing from the same company, but they do not provide specs for that. What is a good way to find out my water pressure? I'm pretty sure it's not great, as when the hose is on full blast my upstairs shower is just a drip. I spoke with someone from the company and she is sending me the new & improved version of the hose (I guess it's been a problem for others as well?), just one length, so I can decide whether to get that or go to drip irrigation, which I'm hoping would work better with my (probably low) water pressure. Thanks again for your help. Megan...See Morerip mr. hosp
Comments (8)Hi Alison, I got him with a 22. I had never shot it before the other day. I dont like guns. I took about 10 shots at a coffee can and was suprised to see I was able to hit the target evey time. It's a very nice gun with a scope. I just got him in the cross hairs and that was it. I was afraid because I didn't want to wound him, I would have felt awful. I took a deep breath and did exactly what DH showed me to do and it was a clean hit. I put he nest in a pine tree so other birds can use the grasses. I hope to never have to do this again but at least I now know I CAN and I WILL if I must....See MoreR.I.P. Marco
Comments (62)Hi Siobhan, it's been a tough year for me. A member of my family battled colon cancer this year. Thankfully, she is now in remission. I guess my emotions are still pretty raw from dealing with that experience. Marco's death is just so unfair. I'm finding it hard to process. Your experience is very similar to the loss of another friend I experienced a few years back. It is an awful feeling. Someone mentioned in an earlier posting about how Marco's obituary sounded like he himself had written it. Actually last summer, Marco informed me that he had updated his will, and made various lists and instructions for his friends and family in the case of his death. This is so typical of Marco's consideration for others. He himself may have written the obituary, though I can't imagine he ever thought that he had so little time left....See MoreUser
