Pumpkin Success Story!

As you can tell from my previous posts, and my user name, I am a new gardener.

I just wanted to share my success story from my pumpkins this year.

On a whim, I bought two very very small "jack-be-little" pumpkin plants. They were very sad looking when I bought them late in the season. I threw them into my new garden, which was my first mistake as you can imagine. They started taking over my garden. I slowly as they grew pulled the vines out of the garden and set them into the surrounding yard.

I picked most of them today, and am happy to report that I successfully grew 43 mini pumpkins. I don't know if that is a lot from just 2 small plants, but I can't tell you how happy I am.

I would highly recommend this type of pumpkin! Although, next year I think I will go for the big guys! Anything that I should know? Does anyone know if that is a normal amount of pumpkins to expect from 2 plants?
