YEAH!! My first big purchase on Hostas!!

There Here!! I went to a local guy that I have meet before and he has about 450 diffrent kinds of hostas and sells alot of them on the weekends. I was there 4 hours and still couldn't get enough! He is a wonderful guy, he walked me through everything. I only had 1 hosta to start this obsession now I have 37!! I know it's still small but have to start somewhere;) Heres my list:

Holy Cow! I think you have just purchased more hosta than I have after 3 years of buying power! Okay, maybe not, but you have purchased almost as many as I LOST this Spring!

I know you are very happy right now--you've made some very good choices!! Now, get to work--you've alot of work before you!!! :o)

I'm in NoVA, near Mt. Vernon, & I got these hostas at Holly, Woods, & Vines on Rt. 1 (Richmond Hwy). Next weekend is the big AHS sale at River Farm, just up the road-this is my favorite time of the year!-lots of vendors & choices-I think the one that I bought the most at last year was Rick's Custom Nursery-it helps that my b-day is right around this time, I can justify my spending!

Hi Joe, I'm in KC too. Welcome to the wonderful world of hostas! I'm impressed with those plants, considering that it's August, and they're not crispy fried. Suburban must take good care of their plants - I don't think I've ever been out there. And pricewise, you got a steal! I disagree with whoever said you can't overwater hostas. There are some that don't like boatloads of water. I killed a young tokudama aureonebulosa this year with too much watering. I'd stick with watering when they look like they need it. By the way, for the purposes of purchasing plants for our zone, if you're in the KC area, you're zone 5. Have fun with your new babies! Deanna

Well, it's like this: The drawer front is very deep, but when you pull out the drawer, the box part, as lsandler called it, is not nearly as deep as the drawer front. I guess you can stack things above the box part, but seems like when you open the drawer, they could tumble out the side. Don't get me wrong, I still think this was a good choice rather then four drawers where none of them are deep enough for larger items. But, I have this three drawer set-up in my current home (Decora cabs are in lake/retirement place) and when you open the ones here, the box is only maybe one inch smaller then the drawer front. Course, these cabs look like sh*t and have virtually from the day they were installed...local cabinet maker guy. My Decora cabinets at lake home are very nice, but I just don't understand why the box would not be closer in size to the drawer facing. lsandler, hate to ask, but if you know how to post pics, would you mind posting a picture of your drawer with your stuff in it? Then, on the other hand, maybe I should just have a glass of wine and git over it. But, I did pay an arm and freakin leg for these....these stubby drawers parading as deep ones!!!

If that is representative of what he is selling, you are going to be his best customer for a few years to come. What great choices.

Very nice! You have a great list going there. I had one order with 38 hostas back in April. I was tired when I got them planted, but it was the best kind of tired. Welcome to the wonderful world of hosta.

I see you got a lot of mini's...I just love the little ones and they don't take up much room, so you can get more!!

Welcome to the wonderful world of Hostas Stacy! I see you've gotten a healthy dose of Hosta addiction - going from 1 to 37 in a single shopping trip. Congratulations!!! You've got a lovely selection there, Queen Josephine & Guardian Angel are two of my favourites. Have fun planting them.
