Do you know what kind of lily you have, like oriental, asiatic, trumpet, etc.? What was it's size (i.e., 16 cm.)? It will probably put forth foliage this year, but you may not see blooms until next year. Depending on the type of lily you purchased will determine when it will bloom. Can you give us a bit more info?

Oh, sorry about that. It's an oriental lily (Meno star), and it's size is 16/18 (written on the package). I'd appreciate any advice you have.

That sounds like a pretty good sized bulb. Since the orientals are already blooming, odds are you won't have any bloom this year, but you should get the foliage at best. Next year you'll have blooms. That's not to say you won't get blooms; it's possible. I planted some orientals in the late spring last year, and a few of them bloomed, maybe just one bloom or so.

I don't know if you can force bloom them inside or not. Any other opinions out there? I've never planted one in a container before. Lilies do like well-drained soil, and to dry out a little between waterings. They are bulbs and too much water will rot them. On the other hand, I've seen my lilies take a lot of abuse from mother nature, and they don't seem to mind too much. Lilies like their feet in the shade and tops in the sun, like Clematis. I don't know about potted lilies, if you should mulch the pot, or set a lot of pots around it might help keep the roots cooler.

I planted my lilies in march and just know i get flowers my question now is I know they are growing like second bulb from that bulb, but i also get other kind that the stem is getting like many little bulb, I do not know if this one going to multiply that way?
