Comments (7)Oh that's good. I am willing to take the risk of a runny or not so tasty combo. I know is always risk in fooling with a recipe, sometimes we are delighted, some times disappointed. I just bought a chunk of land next door to my yard, and in the deal have inherited a giant rhubarb plant that I have been coveting from afar for a few years. I will probably have to try all sorts of rhubarb combos....See MoreAmerican Range Open Burner For Propane
Comments (4)As you can tell by the lack of response, there does not seem to be anyone on this forum that has one. American Range has been building resteraunt ranges for decades, and a lot of them are propane. I have a CC on propane and it is really no different than NG. BlueSstar Capital And American Ranges with big open burners will preform well on either, as will many of the sealed burner ranges. Some of the sealed burner ranges will loose quite a bit on LP. This is from the GE Cafe. Top Burner BTU Rating - LP:(1) 11,000; (1) 15,000; (1) 9,100; (1) 5,000; (1) 8,000 BTU's Top Burner BTU Rating - Natural Gas:(1) 20,000 Tri-Ring; (1) 17,000; (1) 9,100; (1) 5,000; (1) 8,000 BTU's You can find more info on the American Range on AJMadison than on theie own website. It seams American's marketing department has less insight into what we are looking for than their engineering department. There is no reason you should not buy an American Range, especially because as you can tell, we need a guniea pig to check it out for us....See MoreOther Uses for Propane Turkey Fryer
Comments (13)There's just the two of us, no neighbors closer than 15 acres away through the dense woods, and family is more than hour and a half drive away, so a big seafood boil I would love but leftovers aren't as good as fresh and hot. I haven't tried my big wok on the propane burner but it should work really well - that's a great idea. I will look for a stainless steel pot if my third electric roaster gives up during my apple butter session this October. Thanks for the suggestions. My DH keeps asking why I don't use the gift and I don't have the heart to tell him why. I may take out the biggest cast iron skillet and make old fashioned pecan pancakes and bacon in it. He'd for sure like that. Thanks for all the suggestions....See MoreWhat to look for in a propane burner
Comments (5)Good advice from Elmer. The National Fire Protection Association writes all the standards used by all states and most cities in America and adopt them as code. Many states and cities will amend to add or delete some or all of a section as they see fit. Your situation is covered in NFPA 211. "Standard for Chimneys, Fireplaces, Vents, and Solid Fuel-Burning Appliances". The 211 standard section 9.8 "Interconnection" would apply to your question. In this section 9.8.2 states "Unless listed for such connection, solid fuel–burning appliances shall not be connected to a chimney flue serving another appliance." But I'm just an anonymous internet commenter so seek out someone with the qualification to give safe advise, but not the guy who told you it was OK to do. To be fair to your HVAC inspector the state or city you live in can change the code anyway they want so there is a slim sliver of a chance your city allowed such a connection I still wouldn't do it, not on my life....See MoreJohn__ShowMe__USA
