Canning crushed tomatoes

Hi all --

Quick question for those of you who can crushed tomatoes and use a Villaware to crush them -- does your final product wind up looking quite a bit thinner than store bought? Even using mostly roma tomatoes, I still find the resulting crush is quite thin -- looks more like tomato soup... Do I need to boil it down prior to canning?
