Freezing red bell peppers for next years salsa?

I'm just full of questions today :). I grew red bell peppers to use in Annie's salsa. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get my timing right. Very few of the peppers were ready when I was making my first batches of Annie's salsa. Now, after I've made five batches of the salsa, I am up to my ears in red peppers. Can I freeze them for next year's early salsa? Would you chop, measure and freeze? Or should they be blanched?
