If it is over 2.5 inches long, yep! There are no native tree frogs that big. There's another thing that has to do with their skin sticking to the top of their head, but I don't want to get that personal with them. The ones I've found have been clearly too big to be native!

"A good test to determine if a frog is a Cuban treefrog is to grasp the frog firmly, but gently, and try to move the skin around on the top of the frog's head with your fingertip. The skin on the head of a Cuban treefrog is fused to the top of the skull and won't move."

No, it's not a Cuban tree frog. It's name is something like southern tree frog or something. I'll try to find it.

I could be wrong. I can't find it, but I remember cuban tree frogs having much larger mouths.

Last year, we had lots of CTFs around our neck of the woods.... but not this year! I think last winter's cold really did them in. As a result I am seeing a lot more natives and lizards, too.

& sorry to stir the pot, but after speaking w/ a herpetologist @ our local nature park, I've decided not to worry too much about them - ALL frogs cannibalize each other, given the opportunity.

Yes, it absolutely is a CUBAN tree frog. There are 9 of them in my freezer. Hoping to see native ones and lizards, especially green anoles now.

I think it is a Cuban Tree frog. Notice the enlarged toe pads, other frogs don't have that. When I first moved here there weren't any green lizards and now since we kill all the Cubans we have plenty of them. Also there is no longer frog poop on my windows and side of my house to wash off daily. We also kill the cane toads because they are harmful to the dogs in the area and aren't native either. Though I was called an idiot for doing so on this site.

omg im so sorry someone said that to you. I would have seen if there are forum rules and if you could have reported them. I don't understand why people can't act like adults and say something like " I don't advocate killing frogs " or " im against killing frogs " and not directly insulting people. That quote " the more people I meet the more I love my dogs " is so true. I kill any frog that comes near my house because I don't them to hurt my dogs. I believe all the ones I see are cane. I don't slaughter them. I just toss them in a shopping bag, seal tight and toss in the trash so they suffocate. If frogs wouldn't possibly kill my dogs I wouldn't hurt them but after working for a vet and seeing a few dogs a week die from coming in contact with those, im not taking any chances

i must have missed something. Anyhoo I give my chickens the younger CTFs but they don't know what to do with those big guys! And yes, that is a picture of a CTF.
