YIPPEE!!!!! I won all three of the candies I was bidding on today, and all for the minimum bid too!! I needed Special Candy.....

Sherry Candy.....

and Precious Candy.....

to complete my "Candy" bed. I won Rock Candy last week, so now I'll be able to add the last 4 to my bed this spring. I'm tickled pink over my Christmas present to myself!! LOL

Jan, I picked up Sherry Candy today from Floyd Cove. I made a wrong turn and ended up at the Stamile home. They came out to see who was trespassing. We had a 45 min. talk--a very, very nice one. Grace said that Sherry Candy was her favorite of all the candies. So did Guy Pierce. High recommendations are always welcomed!

Jan, I just got those three from Floyd Cove late this summer and I can't wait to see them bloom next year. You did good. :)

I am so happy for you! The tree is really beautiful . . . and so tall! It was one of those "meant to be" moments, I think. Don't forget to let us see it all decorated, will you? We'll all celebrate it together one more time. My heart goes out to your DH. Both my husband & I have medical field backgrounds and I know how painful and dibilitating, bouts of kidney stones can be . . . and how insurance companies can quickly make your lives miserable, jumping through their hoops. gschick, that's a fun link. Thanks! I am looking a lot at before/after painted pieces for inspiration. My garage is now half full of tables, nightstands and desks, etc., most under $20, all needing some love before we head south. This will be interesting since I have been more into wood refinishing in the past, but Florida seems to cry out for clean bright light colors. When I see a redone yellow or coral or turquoise or robin's egg piece, I think they are wonderful. I'll have to get over being timid and shake off the painting-wood-is-sacrilige mentality. I have time to think and pick colors, as we won't move for a year or two. The garage shop is shut down anyways for a couple months until spring. Way too cold out there to paint or finish anything!

We're pretty sure it was the little twerp (about 9 years old) who lives diagonnally behind us. I had told him previously to stop cutting through my yard and climbing the fence to go from our street to his. We didn't realize that the first time happened there--we THOUGHT the first incident occurred at the new house. Until the second one which HAD to have happened back at the old house. After that, we installed a driveway alarm and it did catch the twerp cutting through a couple of times. We obviously can't prove he was the one who did it but we're about convinced. No, not in the garage, but we live over 30 miles away, so hopefully.... And yes, it's very annoying that someone would do damage like that, I've been SO angry over it. And even now--I am thrilled that DH had the work done for me for Christmas, but when you get right down to it, the little twerp actually cost me a Christmas present--I'd have gotten something else, something fun, if it weren't for this needed (and wanted) repair.

After 35 years of use I'm [finally] having to replace my boning and paring knives. They've been honed so much over the years that they've warn down to an unsafe width.I've elected to replace them with Henckels...which I'm picking up one at a time due to my frugal budget. The 4" paring knife arrived a couple of weeks ago and I can't begin to tell you what a wonderful piece it is. Susan...you'll love them. ;-) They're worth the extra $$$. Anne

Well, Lucky you, Jan.They are beautiful, too.I REALLY like that first one SPECIAL CANDY. Gorgeous,Just Gorgeous.I will be so glad when winter is over and spring is here again to see blooms and see photos of every one elses blooms, too.

I'm happy for you Jan. Sherry Candy is also my favorite with Special Candy a very close second. We play bingo at my house at Thanksgiving time instead of exchaging Christmas gifts. My bingo caller was my grandaughter who loves Sherry Candy. Although she now lives in Maine, she is moving to Pa next year if all goes well. I told her for calling the bingo for me she got Sherry Candy as a thank you gift. She was jumping up and down LOL. I will hold it for her and send it when she gets settled. They both really showed off for me this year pictured below.

Jan- You did really good. How big is your Candy Bed? One thing I do not have is any sort of theme bed as mine are mostly just a hodgepodge. But then I suppose there would really be no way of knowing that those daylily blooms have candy names just from looking at the flowers. But they sure are pretty.

Rita, when I get these last 4 added, I will have a total of 30 "Candies" by Stamile in it. I think that is all of the candy series. I don't know exactly how large it is, but I space my dl's about 18 inches apart and it will be full when I get these added.

Jan, you sound like a kid with a new toy at Christmas time. I am happy that you are happy!!
Good thing, the daylilies will probably last longer than some of the toys that are made these days.

Hey Arlene, good to see you around here!! :) Yep, I think my candy bed is complete now and I am as pleased as pie to have won all 3 of these beauties. It's a great Christmas gift from me to me!! LOL
Next spring, I'll be sure to check the candy you asked about to see if I have enough increase to share. Heck, I might even drive down there and deliver it in person! :) Maybe you and I could pay Ronda a visit together. How's that sound to you?

What a nice Christmas present for you. I love buying myself Christmas presents. And they sure are beauties. I love the Stamiles daylilys. I have wineberry candy, dewberry candy and strawberry candy. My fave is wineberry candy. Which is your fave?

Oh goodness Maureen, I've got so many Stamiles, I couldn't pick a favorite if I tried. When I get these latest candies, I'll have all of Stamiles Candy series. Can't wait to see them blooming in my garden. :)
