Merry Christmas to me......

Our restaurant supply store is on Facebook, and if you like them, you are automatically entered in their 12 days of Christmas daily draw.

Yippeeeeee today I won a 3-pce Henckels plastic cutting board set. They're white, with non-slip edges. Not bad, out of 525 "friends".

(They're so nice and white, I hate to use them!! )

Hi all! Patty! Thanks for sharing those pics. I hadn't seen them before. I think I need a few more tree's to try different ways of growing. ;-) Hi Josh! Yes, I know you do :-) See, another tree, and I could do as you do, and then let this one go to see what happens. I really want the pink variegated I saw at HD! It even had a nice size lemmon! 5gal. for about $25 if I remember. It does have several side branches, but short now and they blend due to the leaves. Mike~ Tree seems Ok today. Just checked. We had a hard freeze last night and I forgot to cover it(I'm sick and was in bed by 8pm! :-( ). But I have it under a shrub which is a pretty warm spot (micro climate) compared to the rest of the yard. It has a few yellow leaves, i'm assuming not fed well or at all by grower/wal mart. I will give it a shot of MG today till I can get better. Is it ok to move it to gritty mix this time of year? Or weather is so flip floppy! But it's been a warm winter with spring like days and cold nights. Yesterday was high of 51* but water in dishes outside froze. lol.. Today will be high of 53*. Warming up to 60's next few days. Or just pot up and put some 5-1-1 around it for now, just to get it in a bigger pot. Right now it's in a tall narrow one. A slip I think it's called. Bowie is a very good boy!!! Good for you, Maryott's will make anyone feel like it's Christmas. Ooooh! Look at the daffodils! You really got your money's worth there. I love looking at pictures with your lake. It is so pretty. What a view. Yes indeed, cats will most assuredly dig in your garden. I had totally solved it, but DH was insistent it was too dangerous. (a few small boards with screws through it, lay them with screw side up. I had to admit it would be me, not the grandkids who would go helter-skelter through the beds and step on them, but they surely did work well. Slate, huh? I'll try it, thanks. kay

I'm happy for you Jan. Sherry Candy is also my favorite with Special Candy a very close second. We play bingo at my house at Thanksgiving time instead of exchaging Christmas gifts. My bingo caller was my grandaughter who loves Sherry Candy. Although she now lives in Maine, she is moving to Pa next year if all goes well. I told her for calling the bingo for me she got Sherry Candy as a thank you gift. She was jumping up and down LOL. I will hold it for her and send it when she gets settled. They both really showed off for me this year pictured below. Dot

Jas, I have this set - get your bleach rag out and wipe it after every use - they stain if you don't.

Kay, that's just it......I know carrots stain like the dickens....my regular white plastic board is orangeish.

I just had it soaking in the sink with bleach and water.
I may just use these for "good food." But that doesn't leave much. Celery and potatoes. LOL

I keep diluted javex in a squirt bottle that I use on my boards, I'll just make it a habit of using it every day.

After 35 years of use I'm [finally] having to replace my boning and paring knives. They've been honed so much over the years that they've warn down to an unsafe width.I've elected to replace them with Henckels...which I'm picking up one at a time due to my frugal budget. The 4" paring knife arrived a couple of weeks ago and I can't begin to tell you what a wonderful piece it is. Susan...you'll love them. ;-) They're worth the extra $$$.

Congrats!!!! It's such fun to win something and Henckel knives are my fav so much so that I gave them to my kids for Xmas last year.

Son gave me some black ... and some gray, for Christmas ...

... a couple of years ago, along with new white ones ...

... but I only got to take one home, could get the next when I brought in a trader.

Made about one trade ... felt that the others were in too good condition to part with, to have thrown out.

I got the others last Christmas - looks like I outwaited 'em.
