Merry Christmas to me.

I got this teapot for myself for my birthday this past April. A couple of weeks ago I found a matching cup and saucer and got it for myself for Christmas. Just what I wanted!!

Anybody else treat themselves to a special Christmas present?

Loved the teapot and matching cup and saucer. They just look happy. Every day is Christmas for me. I buy myself whatever I want, whenever I want to. I keep saying to DH, the kids won't think twice about spending the money when you leave it to them, so why should I think twice! LOL

Hi all! Patty! Thanks for sharing those pics. I hadn't seen them before. I think I need a few more tree's to try different ways of growing. ;-) Hi Josh! Yes, I know you do :-) See, another tree, and I could do as you do, and then let this one go to see what happens. I really want the pink variegated I saw at HD! It even had a nice size lemmon! 5gal. for about $25 if I remember. It does have several side branches, but short now and they blend due to the leaves. Mike~ Tree seems Ok today. Just checked. We had a hard freeze last night and I forgot to cover it(I'm sick and was in bed by 8pm! :-( ). But I have it under a shrub which is a pretty warm spot (micro climate) compared to the rest of the yard. It has a few yellow leaves, i'm assuming not fed well or at all by grower/wal mart. I will give it a shot of MG today till I can get better. Is it ok to move it to gritty mix this time of year? Or weather is so flip floppy! But it's been a warm winter with spring like days and cold nights. Yesterday was high of 51* but water in dishes outside froze. lol.. Today will be high of 53*. Warming up to 60's next few days. Or just pot up and put some 5-1-1 around it for now, just to get it in a bigger pot. Right now it's in a tall narrow one. A slip I think it's called. Bowie is a very good boy!!! Good for you, Maryott's will make anyone feel like it's Christmas. Ooooh! Look at the daffodils! You really got your money's worth there. I love looking at pictures with your lake. It is so pretty. What a view. Yes indeed, cats will most assuredly dig in your garden. I had totally solved it, but DH was insistent it was too dangerous. (a few small boards with screws through it, lay them with screw side up. I had to admit it would be me, not the grandkids who would go helter-skelter through the beds and step on them, but they surely did work well. Slate, huh? I'll try it, thanks. kay

After 35 years of use I'm [finally] having to replace my boning and paring knives. They've been honed so much over the years that they've warn down to an unsafe width.I've elected to replace them with Henckels...which I'm picking up one at a time due to my frugal budget. The 4" paring knife arrived a couple of weeks ago and I can't begin to tell you what a wonderful piece it is. Susan...you'll love them. ;-) They're worth the extra $$$. Anne

I can second the praise---they're beautiful.

I have been wanting some simple drop pearl earrings. I bought a strand of pearls dyed jewel colors at a local consignment shop this summer (July 3rd was the 45th anniversary of the day my DH and I first met). Last week, at the same shop, I found a set of 3 pairs of dyed Honora pearls which will match the necklace. Since we don't do gift giving at Christmas, this is something special.

I hope you'll have many cups of delicious tea and quiet times of contentment

No tea in it yet, Moni. I almost don't want to get it dirty. :) Flamey, that bee is so cute, isn't it? It's English bone china and I sure hope I don't chip or break either one! They may just end up being for show. I'll see how I feel about it. Thank you all for the comments. I'm happy to see others treat themselves well as well.

It appears to be Roy Kirkham, Alpine Strawberry. I don't think it's a discontinued pattern, if you wanted to add to your set. It's so charming, please use it to spoil yourself. Bone china is actually very tough stuff! It's the cheapo materials that chip easily, not fine china.
