Jean, it is beautiful! My hot Lava has had buds for ages now, still looks like it may bloom despite 2 hard frosts, so I'm hopeful. I doubt mine will look as good as yours there, although the next few days are supposed to be pretty warm.

What a great surprise I really like Hot Lavqa the more I see it, I just might have to add it to my want list. MS Blackie and Snoopie are both looking fine.

Hi Jean,

This should be some kind of record or something! Nice daylily, too! But Blackie really got my attention. We used to have a kitten named Jezebel that looked just like Blackie. A teacher colleague gave her to me, and she was the cutest little thing - very affectionate. Unfortunately, she started going "wild" as she matured, getting meaner - and then took to the woods. I saw other young ones like her at our neighbors' down the road, so I guess she moved in with them. We had two kittens at the same time, and we still have the other one - almost 20 years later.

I also got two guineas, since they make terrific "watch dogs." Brought them home, and was transferring them to another cage, and the two rascals escaped. They moved down to our neighbor's house. That was the end of my attempt to have guineas. LOL

That is a lovely flower. It is one that I was thinking of ordering when I did all my Maryott orders. I really like the coloring. I was also happy to see Ms. Blackie and Snoopy! I always love to see how they're doing. They seem to be enjoying life with you. Give them a nice scratch behind the ears for me.

Ms Blackie looks happy with dinner and I know she is always your friend. Snoppy looks just like her :-) That bloom on HOT LAVA looks great and especially great considering that it is November. HOT LAVA quit blooming around here long ago!

Oh, how nice to go out and find a bloom like that. It has such a vibrant color, really cheerful and happy looking. Love your two cats, they certainly look as if they could be twins. Hope you got rain along with the wind. Avedon

Nancy in ky. Thank you for looking and commenting.I do hope yours blooms too.Its such pretty bloom.With the wind we had over night,I figured the scape would be broken on this one, but its still pretty stromh and has more buds on it, too that I hope will get to bloom, too.

AVEDON. we didnt get much rain with it, less then a quarter inch, just enough to wet the top of the ground, but its better then nothing I guess.

RITA:Snoopy is much bigger then Ms BLackie.and I am guessing that snoopy weighs around 20 lbs, maybe 15, not sure, will have to weigh her one day and see, i know its all I can do to pick her up, and Ms Blackie is light. bet she dont weight more then 10 lbs.She eats good this time of year, in the summer she eats very little.Sorry your daylilies are finished blooming, but them Zinnias of yours is very pretty yet.I am hoping these other buds on HOT LAVA will bloom too, its so pretty.

KAY, i agree, it is a very nice surprise to see this bloom all opened up and looking so pretty. would you believe the bloom is still open too? its the first bloom I have had that is still open on day 2 and looks just as pretty, too.
NANCY, SORRY ABOUT YOUR LITTLE KITTEN GOING SOME WHERE ELSE TO LIVE. and the guineas are different story.some folks like them, but I am nor one of them. They are too loud for me and I cant stand to listen to them.But, every one is different in whaat they like and dont like. Thank you for looking and commenting.

Far back in time I rented a farmstead in Arkansas. I had to drive through three other properties on a private road to get back to where we lived. There were already two resident guineas there who spent most of their time high up in the tree tops by the house. One good thing about them - they sure let me know if anyone had arrived. They made me feel pretty safe living back there with just my two little boys and me. While they aren't very lovable, they sure make good sentries!

NANCY,I guess guineas are nice if you like their noise they make, but,I just am not one that likes themI eould reather listen to a rooster crow all day, then to hear a guinneae one time.I do know they will certainly make a lot of racket when they see some thing moving.

KAY, ON DAY 3, THIS HOT LAVA Abloom looks likeyour biggest one in your photos;I really didn't expect to see such a pretty bloom on this HOT LAVA.I hope the other buds will open too, but, we are suppose to have really bad storms tuesday, then a couple days later they forecasting 30degrees for a low temp. but, it had already dropped to 31 several nights and it still bloomed that nice bloom,anyway,when I didnt think it had a chance to open up.

Any bloom in November is a pretty bloom - even if it takes three days to open. None of mine made it into November this time. Buttered Popcorn had its last bloom on Halloween. I love the photos of Miss Blackie and Snoopy. I would never have guessed that Snoopy is a 20-pounder. Most of my cats over the years have weighed under 10 pounds. The Gypsy Cats are all 10 pounds and under, except for Cowgirl, who weighs 12 pounds now.

thank you DEBRA FOR LOOKING AND THE NICE comment.I am just guessing about my kitties weight.I do not know for sure how much they weight.I will have to weigh them. I know snoopy only weighed 12 pounds when she had her leg amputated, and she was really skinny then and now she fat and very heavey,so I just guessed maybe 20 lbs.Shes a bigger cat then Blackie is, shes long.
