Look What I Found This Morning

I could hardly believe my eyes when I went to look at the Main Garden. There was a new scape on Beautiful Edgings. I don't know if it will have a chance to really grow to maturity, but hats off to it, what a great daylily!! Also, a few more DL pics, too. Avedon

Twins on Persian Market today. The color is pretty close to "true".

Final Touch--I thought this one looked a little strange, it apparently has 3 petals, 3 sepals, and what are those two little ones--petaloids?

Your Beautiful Edgings is amazing and your other late bloomers are looking good. Looks like Final Touch was trying to double.

I'll need to check my Beautiful Edgings tomorrow to see if it's up to anything-would love to see it rebloom.

There is a smattering of snow on the ground this morning. It was so windy that most of it just blew away, I guess! The sun is out, but it's deceiving! I know it's cold out there! If it would snow gently and peacefully on Christmas Eve, and melt within the following week, that's all the winter I need! I begin praying for spring right after New Years Day... sometimes before!

Hi I boil the peat to help reduce the tannins ,sterilize it and allow it to accept water.. In this case I was potting up some submerged aquatic plants and had it left over. if you don't boil it it floats lol Any body growing any of the rat tail types of the epi cactus?? The ones with the spines??. I finally got some cuttings to grow but boy are they susceptible to rot. Have been using crushed lava rock with them but still get some rot from all the rain.. They have the most fantastic flowers but not for me lol gary

AVEDON> You are really having good luck in the rebloom department. Beautiful Edging is a great daylily,and am glad you are getting more reblooms PERSIAN MARKET is a very pretty one, too.I have had rain here hree different times here in this last week, so maybe mine will put up more scaped, but, its suppose to drop down to 48 tomorrow night,so, kind of doubt I will have more rebloom scapes, but, never know.Strange things are happening this year. nice photos too of your blooms.

It does look like FT is trying to double. BE seems to do very well for you with all the blooms.

Yes, Beautiful Edgings is a great daylily! I had a scape on it late last fall too, but it didn't grow much. It also had the very first scape in spring this year! And, still going. Though flowers don't open much because of the cold weather.
Final Touch often has additional petals here by the end of the season, but mine is done now

Your Persian Market looks really good. Great color for this time of the year. I like the little extras on Final Touch - maybe that's why it was named that?

I think my Beautiful Edgings still has two buds. It was blooming today. Snapped another seed pod off of it. The only daylily seen blooming in this area for several miles is some mini-Stellas they planted at the entrance. I don't want to grow any Stella-Edgings or Beautiful Stellas. (smile)
