Yesterday's Harvest--String beans & Sweet Potatoes

There are a few things in the garden that I'm harvesting now. Some greens are ready such as, kale, mizuna, and amaranth. I have several varieties of string beans just starting to produce. I've also on my second harvest of sweet potatoes. I want to harvest small amounts at a time to get more land ready for planting cool weather crops in the near future.

I'm trying new varieties of green beans this fall. None has overly impressed me so far. However, this is the second time I have planted the pale yellow/streaked with purple beans 'Dragon Langerie'. As you can see from the pic they are extremely heavy producers. One drawback, the flavor is very mild. So, if someone wants quantity over high flavor, this is the one. Even so, they still are better than what you get in a store. Freshness counts.

The sweet potatoes are 'Beauregard'. Anyone find any more good sweet potato recipes?

Christine
