sundried tomato wine soaking....HELP!!

Hello everyone! I have 50 lbs. of beautiful romas and I'm wanting to follow the brokeback method of the wine soak, before dehydrating them. I have no red wine but do have a bottle of Port which is red and I think really strong. Does anyone have recommendations or thoughts about using it for the soak? Should I dilute it with something?? Thanks for any ideas!
