Looking for tomato soup canning recipe

Does anyone have a tomato soup canning recipe? I would love to try it and would appreciate it if someone would share! :0)

Please, for your safety, do not use the recipe that floats around with butter and flour in it. It is not safe, it can lead to botulism ! There are so many people who are posting this recipe.
So, here is the one from Ball that several folks I know of use. Some cut down on the sugar.
TOMATO SOUP
Makes about 4 pints

Do not thicken with flour or other thickeners before canning. Do not add butter or any milk. You may do so after opening, if desired.

4 quarts chopped peeled tomatoes
3 1/2 cups onions
2 1/2 cups celery
2 cups chopped sweet red peppers
1 cup sliced carrots
7 bay leaves
1 Tbsp. whole cloves
1 clove garlic
1 cup brown sugar
2 tsp. canning salt

Combine all vegetables and seasonings. Cook until soft.

Press through food mill.Add sugar and salt, cook over medium heat for 15 minutes.

Ladle hot soup into hot pint jars. Leave 1 inch headspace.Process in pressure canner for 35 minutes at 11 lb. pressure dial gauge, 10 lb. weighted gauge.

Cloves is just a flavoring agent. While they appeal to most people and usually compliment tomatoes well some folks just don't care for them. They can be left out with no problems but it will affect the flavor. Any dried herb or seasoning can always be left out, or even increased somewhat, if you wish without affecting the processing times. It is fresh herbs and spices that can't be altered. The issue with dried spices and seasonings is that they can often turn bitter or over-whelming turning shelf storage so that's why they are are used carefully. Dave

No way, not with all that butter (with a couple of tested exceptions no fats/oils allowed) and definitely not with the flour, thickeners aren't allowed either. What is the source of that recipe? There are only a couple of tomato soup recipes approved because of the fats and dairy products and thickeners so many recipes include. One is Katie C's Roasted Tomato and Garlic soup and the recipe for it is in many threads here. Otherwise it is canning tomato sauce and turning it into soup after opening the jar. Linked several previous discussions and recipes below for you. One the most popular is called Katie C's Roasted Tomato Soup. Keep in mind that you cannot add any milk, cream, butter, or thickeners until AFTER opening. Thus the easiest, most basic recipe is to just make your favorite approved tomato sauce recipe for canning and then turn it into soup after opening the jar. Squeezo is a very old name for the newer model Villaware or Roma food strainer. These use a very good design that incorpoates a spiral auger that pushes the juices through a fine holed screens and removes all traces of seeds and skins. No prepping needed, unless the tomatoes are really big, where you simply cut them in quarters. Its similar to a meat grinder, but its for most any food that has skins and/or seeds. I use it for red raspberry jam without seeds. The use of a finer hold berry screen is what gives me just the juices and soft pulp, and any seeds are pushed out the end of the conical sieves. They also make a shorter spiral for large grape seeds and a pumpkin screen or even a 3/16 inch hole salsa screen. These are extra attachments. If you were dong a LOT of tomatoes or othr things, also suggest the motor unit. I have one here and 'crank' out a bushel in about 10 minutes. The newer ones have a twist on strainer screen, while teholder models have two big wingnuts on each side of the screens. Of allthe models and improvements, the nerwer ones work better, leak less and are very easy to work. Here is a link that might be useful: Food strainer

Oh, boy is that one good. I can in pints and take it to work in the winter. Pop the lid, warm in the microwave and drink it for lunch!! Mmmm.....
