First time tomato sauce

I am about to have a fairly large quantity of a sauce-type tomato. (It's called Lunch Box. I had thought it was a salad type when I planted it).

No big deal, I like pasta with tomato sauce, so I'm thinking of making some.

I'm looking for a safe and easy recipe to try. I'm guessing freezing would be a best first attempt at homemade sauce, but if someone thinks I'd be better off trying to can, please let me know!

I like my sauces without chunks of anything in them. My favorite store type is Prego traditional.
