Comments (7)We sure did not know triple_b ! You would be welcome Florence. You can just pick a little amount of rose petals during the summer (Zephy is a good choice!) and keep them in small bags in the freezer until you have enough to make the jam). Btw Here is another great link for all the rose products one´s heart can desire. (Including the Rose Petal Jam). Best Rose Oil, Water (Get the little atomizer!). I use the Rose Oil in aromatherapy lamps and it scents the house those winter days when I long for roses and summer and read rose books. Do check this link there is lots of information and pictures about the production of Bulgarian rose products. Comments (2)Assuming your jams are made with acidic fruits and approved recipes then they will be fine to eat. It is just an appearance issue. With jams it is usually an indication that the jam was a bit too thick when put into the jars so try jarring it when it is a bit thinner. You can also defoam the batch prior to jarring it with 1/2 tsp of butter or margarine. Dave...See MoreFig Balsamic Jam and Peach Bourbon Jam
Comments (2)Hey--welcome to jamming! I think you'll find it very fun (I have so much fun with new recipes that I have more jam than fam can eat right now). Check out the discussion I linked below--it has a lot of the info you're curious about. As far as I can tell, the recipes look ok. It does seem like a lot of sugar for that amount of peaches and a no-sug pectin, but I'm not familiar with Ball brand, preferring Pomona's myself. My peach recipes are generally 1-1 1/2c per 4lbs peaches. And, I generally add liqueur to most all my jams too. There's also a more recent thread called confused about pectin that discusses some interesting things you might like. Comments (32)I finally found the tiles that I believe are on this fireplace FYI - they are from Susan Jablong Designs. I have been on the phone with them for a number of design questions and I have to say they are incredibly pleasent to deal with. I have dealt with Emily (Susan's daughter) and she has just been so helpful as I have gone back and forth on my decisions as I always do, always second guessing my choices. I definately give her the patience of the year award. So here is the link in case you are interested: I considered going to their offices as they just had so many wonderful tile designs but it is five hours each way, but it was probably for the better as I think I would definately have had a more difficult time narrowing it down. Can't wait now to redo the kitchen, and the main bath, and the master bath... Here is a link that might be useful: Blush champagne tile...See Moredigdirt2
