canning fruit (pear) juice???

BOATLOAD of pears pulled off the trees, not sure what to do with 'em all, tried pear butter last year - too sweet for me.

pear chutney,doesn't sound too yummy

Pickled pears, ah gross

Pear chips, ah no.

I was wondering if I could BWB some juice, I'd probably have to add tons of sugar - it'd probably be more a pressure can thing. huh?

maybe just canning or freezing pear halves, but I don't understand how to treat to avoid darkening, nor am I into making a syrup base.

any pear ideas for freezing, boiling, drying is appreciated.

no butters/jams/chutneys TIA
