Thanks watergal, I'm glad I have more lee-way on the lilies. The trick with the lotus, I guess, is to figure out that little window of opportunity in the spring where you're not having to divide it when its so cold out, or when it has started growing already. I've heard as soon as it starts growing, you can really kill it by manipulating it much. I'm realizing that the stuff I have that's underground is slower to sprout than the stuff that's in my little pond, in the sun. So I'm thinking I could have waited a little longer with the ones underground. Oops. Now I have all these tubers floating in an above-ground tub and there's freezing night temps on the way. Oh well. I'm sure it will all turn out in the end........or not. :) Thanks for your help watergal.

man, ANYTHING but broad mites and I'm chill :P I'm not hugely concerned cause my plants are literally crawling with ladybug larvae, like three to five per plant. I'm so happy :) and they've gotten HUGE! thanks Karyn :) Kristy, I've actually never had problems with mealybugs (whew!) I check over my plants daily (or more, lol!) and I've never seen one. still not sure about those leaves but eh, the new growth is coming in fine, so I'll keep an eye on it but not worry. thanks for the mealybug heads up though, and if by some chance I start seeing them, I'll go straight to you for advice, LOL. Brandywine Sudduth's Strain Delicious Green Zebra Kellogg's Breakfast Better Boy Hybrid I really wanted to try Mortgage Lifter and Jet Star. Also going to try the Florida Weave method this year. I cannot wait to see how that works out!

Don't know the guy and was thinking ill of him through most of the reading here but it did just hit me that when I was going to the cabin a lot I would use basically one knife. The fillet knife from my tackle box. Always was super sharp, and cut everything I needed to cook. But at home I don't consider myself on a desert island. I can afford to spare a little room and have a chef's knife, a bread knife, a paring knife or two, some steak knives (although I suppose he considers that in the flatware department) and another I've found extremely handy was called a sandwich knife. I used to carry one with me when I traveled a lot. It was essentially a mini bread knife about the size of a steak knife. Yes it was serrated. The thing that really irritates me about these boobtube buffoons is watching them trying to showoff on their alleged knife "skills" and watch them chop-chop-chop, then drag the knife blade across the cutting board to bring the items together to chop some more. What a perfect way to show people how to ruin their knives. But they don't care, they're trying to sell you knives and they get theirs replaced every couple shows anyway I suppose since they're going to be about as sharp as a bicycle tire
