Comments (12)Of course you won and here's to many more victories. You go girl. I'm lucky that I can pretty much leave all my pretties out all year. I do try to keep everything contained in beds for DH. But now we have about 50% beds and 50% lawn. I spend way more time in the beds than it takes DH to mow and weed eat (about 35 minutes). Comments (11)Sun damage will happen like that, yes. :/ It's a bummer. I envy those cristatas! The Haworthia cymbiformis 'variegata' is absolutely gorgeous. I have debated about ordering that very plant off ebay, but I have ebay seller fear and haven't; that and shipping costs just kill me. But finding it locally probably isn't in the cards, so I may break down and do it pre-Christmas. The Haworthia limifolia var. ubomboensis, which I too have, is really nice as well. My Haworthia are the only succulents I have in the house, and they're nice company at the window in light shade. Haworthia are generally not full-sun-lovers and are pleased in shade/light shade. Graptopetalum paraguayense is an awesome plant. :) And the Dudleya candida is gorgeous. Doing individual searches of each plant will result in a lot of great advice. Your collection's great!...See MoreX Posted: Mrs. Lovett's Meat (and meatless) Pies
Comments (16)I've used the Bertolli 3 cheese tortellini to make a salad a bit more substantial and served as a main course. Chunks of a good mozzarella, red pepper, lots of onion, garlic, plum tomatoes, cucumbers, and any other veggie you choose to add. Top with a vinegar, olive oil, and freshly ground blsck pepper dressing. As a second dish, raw broccoli and cauliflower in a vinegarette dressing is also quite tasty, and a complete vegetarian dish. Serve a side plate of salami for those who prefer a bit of meat. Thin slices of Italian bread spread with a bit of pesto and baked is good hot or cold. Plain bread with a dipping sauce is very easy also. I make my dipping sauce with a good VVO, balsamic vinegar, and toasted garlic. Easy and delicious. Comments (6)I taped it and watched it last night. Bourdain is very funny. I haven't read any of his books yet, but I'm wanting to. This promises to be an interesting show. I don't really like all the fighting, but I watch it anyway, hoping they'll actually talk about food. DH and I have joked about turning it into a drinking game, where you take a drink every time someone says "I don't want to go home" or I really want to win this." We decided we'd have way too much to drink if we did that. lol. Sally...See More- 10 years ago
