I'm trying to remember when it was foggy and in the 50's!

I'm old enough to remember gas at 24 cents a gallon. ;o)

There's a gas station nearby that went out of business a few years ago but left the price on the sign. $1.54 you drive by it and dream.

29 cents a gallon for gas in 1970. Nickle candy bars were just starting to go up to 10 cents each. I used to go to the movies as a kid and they cost 25 cents. Sugar, flour and many backing items shot up very fast. If you worked for government placs that dealt with foods, you could tell what was going to skyrocket when you saw thousands of pounds of sugar being delivered all at once. On the other hand, tehnology is very cheap now. TVs are under $100, computers are MUCH faster and MUCH cheaper, as are many other home electronics. The good old days are nice for some things, but I do know that the cost of living has more than TRIPLED in one single year!
